(inspiration) A Faerie God at work, by Glen Cook

So, lately, I've been going through Glen Cook 's short stories, notably "severed heads", in which Narriman, , a young woman seeks vengeance against the young magus who raped her, later abducting her gifted son.
Although this already can be used as-is to inspire a story, what I found notable is the help she receives from Karkur, her clan's deity. This manifests in vision of where to go, prompts on what to do, and the occasional Perdo curse... She keeps thinking about him, asking for his help... and it pays of.

Now, in Ars Magica terms, things might be different. Karkur (who even has a Place of Power!)might have known the place before, or might just have spied on it while insubstantial, and used a CrMe effect to send visions to Narriman which would (obviously have been impeted by any Aegis (although it is hinted that the young mage works for elder, more powerful Masters, in a tower outside Karkur's power).

So, I'm passing this around, figuring that, maybe, this'll inspire people on how to play a pagan deity and its relationship with its devotees.
(While I'm at it, "Filed teeth" is a wonderful story about an elder magus who, alongside hired mercenaries, hunts for a legendary dragon's blood in order to renew his Longevity Ritual, which was dispellled as a punishment by his fellow magi - I figure the Tervola make Great inpiration for more sinister Tremeres. Note the use of Mu Im magics to make himself more impressive ^^)
