Journey to Waddenzee (summer 1240)

Lucas grips a little tighter to the carpet and begins to wonder about Carmen's sanity. Then again, weather wizards could get kind of funny about storms.

(Shakes head with a grim expression) I know of him. Lord Frey has a distinct disdain for that one, but for some reason Lord Thor seems to like him. He rode by here on his horse a few weeks ago, on towards Bifrost over those fluffy white clouds yonder.
Come with me! Take a rest and share in repast. Lord Frey will certainly be interested in speaking with you.

Fleur turns to Cornelius "From what we know it would seem time passes differently here, taking less time in the world we left behind, so we should have time for a visit, and it could be quite instructive." She follows Skirnir.

Cornelius shrugs his shoulders and follows. Skirnir leads you into the castle, pixies fluttering about in curiosity, slim stoic elves greeting you in courtly manner. Cornelius whispers over to Fleur.
My nine-realms theory. There are four cardinal realms, and five ways they can intermingle. My theory is that the Aesir conquering the Vanir is symbolic of Magic conquering Faerie. Many aspects of Norse magic have traits of both realms. Freyr is king of the elves. The Nornes are the Fates. Those are strong Faerie affinities. But I sincerly believe, call me a crazy seeker, but I am convinced that Odin is a cosmic force of pure Magic. The magic of the Runes. The Runes! It isn't about the carvings. Anyone can scribble whatever and cast a spell with it if they are a wizard. I proved it with Glyph Magic. But what those Odinist wizards were doing with those symbols, they were communicating with the very essence of magic itself!

You are greeted by servants and are pretented to the throne. The most beautiful man you could ever imagine seeing! Golden locks and piercing violet eyes. His presence radiates virility and manhood.
Skirnir announces you

My Lorn Frey! I announce to you the presence of Fleur and Cornelius Bonisagus, visitors from the mortal realm that inquire about the wizard-smith Vulcanus. I thought you would be interested.

Frey smiles down at you.

Indeed I am. Pray tell me Fleur Bonisagus, what is your interest in Vulcanus? And tell me more about the two of you.

"I seek to take one of his sons to aid me in my research. Cornelius has interest in researching possible crimes that Vulcanus and his associates may have committed and to hold them responsible for them should evidence be found, and is in this instance accompanying myself to ensure his actions will either be above reproach in dealing with this situation or that justice may be meted out swiftly should he transgress the rules of our order. Aside from this we are both researchers in to the arts of magic."

It does not suprise me that Vulcanus is a suspected criminal. He his a foul braggart and a disruptive influence. It would serve everyone best to remove him to the mortal realm.
So what sort of magic do you practice? Rubes? Witchcraft? Hermeticism? Chaldean? I have dabbles in these and others, A hobby. Never got very good at it.

"We are both members of the Hermetic Order, whose rules we intend to enforce with regards to Vulcanus."

Ah, yes. Hermetic. Very popular nowadays. Nealy a quarter of the wizards of Midgard these days practice some form of Hermetic magic. And the Hermetic Order is the single largest organization. I presume you speak Latin then?
All this time, Frey had been speaking his native tongue, which was magically translated as you hear him speak. So subtle that you may not have noticed. But now he switches to Latin, and it becomes obvious. He isn't perfect at it (score of 4 maybe?), but he is as fluent as most magi.
So what crime is he accused of? And what sort of research do you need his son for?
I should also point out that Frey is giant sized, +2 or so. Thus the special effects used for typing his speech.

It is easy to think of Carmen as a crazed weather witch. But really, it is that she gets off on thrills and danger. Maybe because she is half Spanish?
Horus has Second Sight, and he spots Frey's castle in the clouds. He relays this information to Lucas who might mention it to Carmen, who would shake her head no.
Be on the lookout for a rainbow. The Bee-Frost Bridge. It is a conduit that leads straight into the Realm of Asgard.

Keeping his grip on the carpet, Lucas relays the news to Horus. Keep on the lookout for a rainbow bridge. That's our target. IT'll take us strait to Asgard. He nods to Carmen. "Horus will give me a shout if he sees the rainbow."

"I am doing research on the magic of heredity. As to crimes." she turns to Cornelius "That is more your department."

Very clever choice of words using "heredity"
Cornelius responds with a solemn tone and grim face.
Piracy, deprivation of magic, interference with mundanes, deception of authority, molestation of the fae, and murder.

Fleur's face shows a bit of surprise on murder, but she holds her tongue.

Cornelius sees the look on Fleur's face, and speaks quietly.
I have gathered evidence on a few of the lower crimes. No hard evidence on high crimes yet, but the other evidence and the stories I hear mandate further investigation.
My Lord Frey! I would humbly request hospitality and refreshment, and my companion and I will gladly regale you with the tales of our adventures
I hope your good at improvising kid  I want to see if I can find out what Vulcanus is up to in Asgard before we go there, and maybe get us an escort.

The storms subside and the clouts thin and the blue sky shines. Horus peers deeply in to the horizon...
roll a stress die + Perception + Second Sight for an Ease Factor of 9+

Horus keeps his bird-of-prey eyes peeled for any sign of a rainbow. Finally, through the thinning clouds, he calls out. "I see the rainbow. It's to the left, Turn about thirty degrees and it should be straight on."

Thankfully Per + SS is something that Horus is good at.

Second Sight check: 1D10+8 = [7]+8 = 15; success!

Horus sees the Bifrost clearly, reaching up into an endless starry sky. You fly onward and you all see it, then soon you view a n armored man off in the distance. Anachronistic mix of archaic Nordic and ultra modern style. He stands upon the rainbow, and raises his spear as he shouts. A giant of a man, his voice echoes even in the airy space about you.
Ho travelers! Stand and identify yourselves!
Carmen turns to the two of you
These guys are ultra sexist, so one of you two should announce us.

"We are travelers come to visit Asgard," Lucas announces to the large armored man. "I am Lucas, and these are Antoine and Carmen. May we cross the bridge into that fabled land?"

What be the purpose of thy visit?!? No any straggler or wanderer may infiltrate the halls of the Golden Realm!! Know that I have watched thy approach traveling hence infinite leagues from distant Midgard. Thou hast sped with haste with the determination of plan and purpose. I would know that plan and purpose or I shall strike thee down!!!
Then you hear thunder roaring, and a ball of lightning rolling down the track.
Carmen looks worried.
Oh crap, this guy and I did not hit it off to well last time. I'm gonna just bow my head and let you do all the talking, hope he doesn't remember me.

What sort of temperament do you know him to have? Is he Just - we could declare our intent to pursue a thief. Or should we prevaricate?
