Low power talking heads

Salve Soldales!

Thank you for the great feedback so far!

Let's say I want to bind a spirit into a skull and talk to it.

But I'm a starting character.

Let's assume I have a ghost present, and it's skull.

An easy ish way to do this might include…

  • The Spell Binding virtue, and the following Spells:

  • Sustain a Spell of Imagonem ReVi(Im) 5

  • a spell like Phantasm of the Talking Head, CrIm 5

  • and Passing the Reins of Imagonem, MuVi 5

Hopefully the end results will be a spirit that can talk if it wants to and is trapped in its own skull.

Not that this is a particularly nice thing to do!

Thoughts?

Is there an easier way to do this?

Another option might be to invent a variation of

Whispers Through the Black Gate

that includes an Imagonem requisite so they can still speak without having a body.

Unless it's already roaming, it's trapped in it's skull regardless.

If it is a ghost, a circular ward around the skull, use Rego to force the ghost into the circle, then Whispers when you want to talk to it. Or put it in a Whisper with ring duration.

Clearly you need to first make the skull into your talisman to enjoy that nice +!0 to penetration. And because it’s just COOL.

This is in no way the practical approach but I do feel like enchanting the skull such that if you throw it at the ghost and it hits the ghost is now trapped would be more fun. Maybe the skull wiggles for a few seconds while you wait to see if the ghost was caught.

For enchanting the skull it makes me think- when were silver fillings a thing?

Although I suppose preparing the skull with a precious metal inlaid design and a gem before opening it would allow for more enchantments…
