Magic Resistance applies to Hermetic magic as told here at ArMp.85.
Parma Magica can be suppressed if conscious.
MR does not explicitly say that it could be suppressed. Does that even mean helpful magic like healing or just a check-up like Physician's Eye ArMp.130 must pass through his Corpus Form ?
Also, does your MR apply to you too (except for personal spells) ? As for example, you want to throw a Pilum of Fire modified for Group making it a Creo Ignem Level 30.
If you have Creo 10, Ignem 15, Parma 2, Penetration 0, and you cast your spell at your feet, you must have a Casting Final Score of 56 ?
Nobles Parma, Magic Resistance cannot normally be suppressed, that is a function of the Parma Magica, however, suppressing the Parma suppresses all Magic Resistance you have, no matter the source. Helpful spells do have to penetrate to affect a target with Magic Resistance. Magic Resistance applies to spells you cast on yourself as well, Personal Range spells are a specific exemption.
If you try to affect yourself with a spell that isn’t Personal Range, you have to deal with your Magic Resistance, whether by Penetration or suppression, including spells to teleport yourself, alter your own mind, creating a fire to burn yourself, healing yourself, changing your form and diagnosing medical issues you have.
