Unfortunately she has trouble getting far enough away from them to be able to change without them seeing her do so. She runs for a while then encounters a young boy who spots the ogres and says "I have a magic carpet, climb aboard and I will carry you to safety." As he unfurls a carpet incongruously in the middle of the forest.
Can this get even weirder? She thinks to herself as she climbs on the magic carpet.
Within moments the carpet has taken to the air, leaving the ogres behind, and you find yourself flying towards a mountain peak.
At this point you have earned your third fable point- you may, but are not required to, invest it into bringing your fable score from a 1 to a 2 (first point always goes to putting the Fable score to 1). Note that fable points and the fable score vanish when you leave faerie.
Free from the ogres, for now, she looks at the young boy and changes into her human form. "What were you doing in the forest, and why did you offer to help me?"
Will increase Fable score to 2.
"I was looking for gifts to bring to my father, the mountain king. Not much grows on the mountain."
"And you've decided that I was a suitable gift for the Mountain King? What made me suitable?"
"Well, you're pretty, and besides if the ogres are chasing after something it must be valuable, so I figure you are probably a princess or something."
"Am no princess, and am not about to be a plaything to you, your father, or the ogres." And she starts to cast a spell to shrink him, intent on using his smaller size to throw him off the flying carpet.
As she stands he states "If you manage to overpower me the carpet will crash and we will both perish, so I would suggest sitting, I would hate for you to fall off." At which point the carpet swerves, you are pretty certain it was intentional on his part, and while he stays comfortably seated you momentarily feel like you could lose your balance.
"I spent 15 years as an apprentice to a tormenting master, and you think your threats will keep me in check?! You, your stupid realm, and your feeble stories have no hold on me. And I reject you all." She says before she jumps off the carpet. Casting a spell to make herself smaller.
Several thoughts pass through Okeannetis's mind as she falls. Smaller objects don't always fall more slowly. Smaller objects are less resilient when they hit the ground however. A strong wind would have more impact on a small object, despite catching les of it. And finally, that she did not expect there to be an ogress where she was falling who would catch her.
"Would you like some assistance milady?" the giant hag asks of you.
"Yes, a freaking way back to my world."
The ogress chuckles and the world goes dark. Her voice begins to echo and deepen. "You entered Eukodoria running from your allies, asserting your independence, yet at every turn save one you have sought the aid of others over your ownabilities. Every tie your request for aid has been betrayed, and still you sought assistance. If you still entertain thoughts of self reliance let this be a lesson to you." The world is now fully dark and you sit not in the ogress' hands but on a stone floor. The light that now appears is the entrance to the cave you entered, lit again by dusk (you do not know it yet but it is three days later). You have also developed the temporary flaw of the busybody personality trait for the next three days.
In addition to the adventure being worth 7xp.
As soon as she wakes up, she will try to send her thoughts to Elephant -Killer. "Hello, are you still around? Did you find anything to eat? How long have I been gone?"
Elephant Killer responds "You have been gone three days, I could not sense you, where did you go?"
That cave seems to lead to either a Faerie regio, or some variation thereof. Now, we need to get back to the covenant and make sure we know how to find our way back, and I need to know what have the others been up to in three days time. Where are you now?"
"I'm at the covenant, a lot of people have been looking for you. The cave disappeared." Sure enough when you turn around to look the cave is no longer in the mountainside.
"Well then, that seals it very much as a faerie thing, to be on the lookout for. If I turn you into human form, can you get someone to help me back to the covenant? I really need to know what everyone was doing in that time frame."
will take 5 XP in faerie lore (ogres), and 2 XP in Muto.
"That would make communication much easier."
