A mentor is a teacher or uide- it is unlikely to be direct instruction but more likely some form of training, though in some cases it could be a class. So an artist with a skill of 6 and the incomprehensible flaw could provide a SQ of 4, but an artistic reputation of 7, which would provide the same SQ as self study but provide 7xp towards your artistic reputation.
The reward can be taken multiple times, but will need to be used 1 per season- they do not stack. They may be used immediately, although activities for 1104 are already finished and adventures begun.
The plot hook may be earned off with 6 notches (or death of the character), but it does not expire after a certain amount of time.

Andros is involved in no more stories in 1104, so unless you say otherwise, silveroak, I'm going to go ahead and advance him in his character sheet:
Spring 1104 he Refined his Lab to 1, Size/Occupied is now 3(2), roll for Highly Organized (1+5+ _: 1D10 = [5] = 5 = 11. miss by 1! Since it's seasonal can't use Confidence, bah.
Roll for Spotless, 1 + 5 + _: 1D10 = [4] = 4 = 10, not even close.

Say, how long does it take to install a Flaw? Andros took two seasons just to install the antechamber as a Greater Feature, and he could have installed it as a Greater Focus at the same time. This would free up more space to install other goodies. I will plan to put something else in the lab, and at the same time "install" the "Greater Focus".

Keep in mind that Andros has a correspondence in Order of Hermes Lore, so his SQ for that topic is raised by 1 in any season he studies it.

So how many letters can you keep up with, were I to choose that option more times?
One per subject. I don't see a reason to put a hard limit on it, since you only gain the XP when you study the subject. I'm thinking of coming up with some kind of rules for having correspondences "age out" especially when not used... the fact is that if you have 40 correspondences then you have used 40 rewards for what you can, on average, use about once a decade apiece at extreme optimization.
and yes, it counts every time you study it.
A note to everyone- if you can please plan ahead in the advancement planner- then if you are caught by surprise I am not left having to decide between filling it in for you and delaying the game...

Now that adventures have been assigned and length determined (1 cycle at difficulty 9 will be 10 days or less for each season), everyone should go ahead and start filling out 1106, especially if you want to make use of a specialist- as in writing a summae, tractatus, or wanting instruction.

If you check the winter 1105 section of the yearly planner, you will see I put down for Aurthor "Longevity ritual" and Evandrus put "Longevity ritual for aurthor", and Camilla and Anna have both put down they're assisting. (Apologies if I didn't make it clear in the annual planner that Aurthor was expecting Evandrus to take the lead research role on this longevity ritual.)
However, Evandrus' Leadership is 1 specialised in Laboratory, so he can only use two assistants. Does he use the best two?
Evandrus lab total: Creo 31 + Corpus 30 + Int 3 + Magic Theory 11 + Aura 5 + Evandrus general lab quality 2 + assistants - Aurthor Int 3 + MT 5 is 8, Camilla Int 3 + MT 11 (wow!) totals 14, Anna Int 2 and MT 4 is 6 - using Aurthor and Camilla (maybe Anna just watches the masters at work?) can get total 96, or a +17 aging bonus (do we round down?)
Please check my working out and rule on what happens when we accidentally include one assistant too many.

OK, so those 2 rolls are (roll + 4 for (age/10 round up) -1 for mage in spring covenant -1 for healthy feature -21 for ritual) so roll-19:
