" Well I'm certainly glad you didn't do that. I have a few estates, separate from one another that I have managers for each. Let me see, a vineyard, I believe one grows some form of grain, even has a mill with a water wheel to improve our profits, I do have a forest that produces wood, some fruits, and venison, though it is a bit further away. If it is important we can look over the books in my study. First however, we should arrange the wedding. Would this Sunday work for you or do you want to write to your family first and invite them? Or your commune?"
"I had not had contact with my family since the day i was whisked away, and franjly, i'd rather not postpone this longer than need be, so let's marry this Sunday. And if you give me my tools back, I'll make sure we'll have a clear sky." And then she adds "The men who attempted to assault me at the entrance to your estate. They had coins from Paris on them. At least, the one who so suddenly died did, Any idea who might have sent them?"
"I expect it was Gentleman Jacobs, trying to get the onus for bringing you onto my estate himself. I expect I should have been more careful with the wording of that agreement." He rings a bell and has a servant bring paper and quill, and writes a short note, asking the servant to make sure it is delivered. "As I said, your tools are in the workroom, I can show you the way after breakfast."
That settled, she was ready to begin the preparations for their wedding.
The next two days are a flurry of activity, with seamstresses customizing your dress (which he had already had made) being a large part of it, as well as going through the plans at the church, and meeting your soon to be inlaws, who seem endless...
Your staff is presented to you as having been recovered hours before your wedding.
7xp, 3 confidence
Rolling derived from Lords of Men, you concieve a child in the first season of your marriage, but she will turn out to be a girl. 3 seasons must be spent in Paris (we can discuss seasonal activities in Paris in this thread), then 2 years in Bentalone before you need to return to try again.
The tutor he finds has etiquette:4, charm;4, and intrigue:3 with a com of 3, good teacher and a teaching ability of 4 (SQ:21 for 1 on 1 instruction). What instructions do you want to give the book merchant?
For the Book merchant: Books on woodworking, and about the French nobility.
Of the 7 XP from the adventure, I spend 5 on Leadership to gain 1 Rank in, and the Intimidation specialty, and 2 more on Herbam.
For Seasonal Activities: She'll take instruction in Etiquette, Charm, and Intrigue, one in each Season.
He does not expect that he will find anything on woodworking as most woodworkers are illiterate. He will see what he can locate on the French nobility.
Is the XP expenditures approved?
yes
I have advanced Typhannie till end of Spring 12004, so at the beginning of Summer 1204, 2 years after the birth of their daughter, she will return to her husband. This time arriving in greater style, and better time, on Wings of the Soaring Wind, and accompanied by Wind Feather, her familiar owl.
I assume you took maintain the demanding spell at level 10 since you only put one season into it.
Once you return "in style" with windblown hair your husband again seems embarrassed, afraid this will spread tales of witchcraft amongst the peasants, and asks that if you are going to travel by flying that you do so discretely, perhaps at night, or arriving a distance away from town where he can arrange for a carriage to meet you.
You conceive within a season again, though it turns out to be another girl. You also discover that your husband is not very interested in his children (at least not girls) on a personal level, talking with her awkwardly at meals and otherwise leaving her to your care or that of a nanny (did she have a nanny at the covenant or was she in your lab? Or left with Gerard's boys?)
As for books on French Royalty the book buyer has found two works which your husband has purchased- one is vulgar poetry on the tales of King Arthus and the second is a collection of letters that he managed to purchase between two of the most notorius gossips at the court (organizational lore tractatus equivelent, SQ:5)
Vim 8, Rego 10, Int 2, Magic Theory 4, Familiar 3, Aura 3 is a Lab Total of 30 for ReVi at Spring 1204, so she can invent a ReVi15 spell in One Season.
The child will spend most of its time in the covenants with a nurse, though Typhannie will show her love and affection in between reading, and lab work.
She would spend the Season where they conceiver the child practicing Clothe the Naked Form, achieving Mastery 1 (Precise Casting).
The first two Seasons of the pregnancy will be spent practicing Wings of the Soaring Wind, gaining Mastery 2 (Multiple Casting)
And the last Season of the pregnancy will be spent trying to charm the people of the estate (Practice on Charm, assuming a SQ of 4)
That works. We can then advance her to the winter of 1207 for the next Tribunal.
Once she returns to the covenant, with her newborn baby girl, she will check with Gerard's sons, and offer them a chance to fly, at her supervision. (With Multiple casting, she can conceivably cast it on herself, and on both of them)
They find that thrilling, and will definitely push the limits of how far she'll let them go.
