Bock may be anachronistic, but maybe not. It started in the 14th century, but we can say that is when it became popular and well known. "Proto" bock may well be available in the mid 13th.
Barcelona is an international city, and as this is a Redcap HQ, we get business travelers from around the known world. So I stock imported beverages for exclusive clients. The last batch I bought was a half dozen cases from Heinrich the Redcap. It is bottled into ceramic pints. Twelve per case. I have only a score of them left.
Less than a hundred years difference in an era when records were not well kept is not that grand an error. It very well may have existed.
A case?!? That will leave me with...only eight or nine bottles left. I mean, I suppose I can stretch it. The Alimani Redcaps may be disappointed, but they will live. It is just that, well, I would ask a premium price for a full case. Normally I would let it go for half of wholesale, but it puts me in a bind and so I need to ask for three-quarters my wholesale price.
Pere looks surprised to see Fédora, but covers it reasonably well. Mistress Fédora! Your stealth would rival the most cunning rogue in the city. Not cheating, are we? I know you Redcaps have your tricks...
...anyway, please allow me to introduce Acutus Ilfetwis of House Bjornaer. We met en route from Palma as he battled a great sea beast that nearly capsized my ship. Once the serpent was vanquished and my crew saved, he mentioned to me that he is beholden to no covenant and was considering a home near Mallorca. I told him something of our covenant's arrangement and brought him to meet with you as a prospective member. And, of course, introduce him to the diversions of Yvall's as part of the bargain.
[color=blue]"As full of custom as the tavern is, I'm surprised you noticed me at all," Fédora replies, then turns to Celdoni.
[color=blue]"Yes, 'vodka'. I would like some of that, please. I've not had a taste since I was an apprentice."
[color=blue]"A pleasure to meet you, Acutus." Fédora gives what looks like a fake smile, in that it doesn't look...comfortable on her. She is tall for a woman, and slender, but still rather attractive. She is fair-skinned, with long, strawberry-blonde hair falling down her back in a braid, and bright blue eyes. [color=blue]"I would be delighted to discuss the covenant with you, and escort you back when my business here is done, in a few days, and present you to the other Masters of Andorra Covenant."
Fleur grins "makes what inappropriate, discussing the preferences of female cats?" she asks mock innocently. She stands up "Though speaking of your filius, perhaps we should be introduced..."
All the way back downstairs then
My filius is named Florenço. My third. His apprentice will run upstairs and retrieve the books for you while I introduce you.
...
...
Here we are. Florenço, this is Fleur. Fleur, Florenço. A magus of more than 20 years now, he is far more advanced than I was at his age. He has already started training an apprentice, and he has developed a sharp expertise in the scribal and library arts and magic to assist him in such. I am glad he caught my fevor, but sometimes I wonder if he is a little to practical and pragmatic.
Florenço smiles and bows slightly as he takes your hand in a gentlemanly fashion.
A truly genuine pleasure to meet you sodale.
Acutus nods politely at the introduction, offering a slight smile. He is wearing simple clothing in the local style, more fit for a commoner than a magus. His clothes notwithstanding, his bearing is impressive, if a little overbearing. He stands tall at 6 feet high, and his muscular arms and chest, clearly evident even under his uninspiring wardrobe, would seem more at place on a soldier or knight. His bald head and scarred left eye seem to actually enhance his manly, ruggedly handsome face.
"It is an honor, sodales. I would very much appreciate the introduction. Pere here is the first magus I have met in my year here in the area, and I will admit I was beginning to long for some Hermetic company."
"Florenco, it is a pleasure to meet you. Your Filius here suggested you and maybe your apprentice might enjoy looking at ancient cave paintings of people gnikcuf with me. Looking at the pictures with me, obviously the pictures aren't of me. Not unless we make our own."
Ah, Andorran magi always off on expeditions and adventures. It sounds intriguing dear lady but I am preoccupied. I am in the mids of a project to collect and compile Lab Texts of Aegis of the Hearth written by magi who have mastered it in different ways, then refining it down to a single texts that imparts the option for a wide variety of Mastery abilities.
And my daughters fifteenth birthday is coming up. and my wife is putting a lot of pressure on me to get the arrangements just right. Which beans I am putting a lot of pressure on payaso here, my apprentice, so I can free up time and focus on that.
I never said I was claimed. I just have previous obligations. Another time perhaps.
On the bright side, you get to keep the books
So, back to Yuvall's then? Or if you are bound and determined for hedonism, Matteu offers to take you to the Gold Gryphon.
"Another time, I don't need to do Barcelona in a day, besides, Yuvall's has no shortage of men. Didn't notice a whole lot of women there..." she fades off and looks confused for a moment before heading back to Yuvall's with whomever is providing guidance.
You should have taken him up on the Gold Gryphon offer
But it is good to reunite the party. So then, meanwhile back at Yuvall's...
What are you guys up to?
Fleur eyes the slightly damp man that Fedora is conversing with and licks her lips. Fedora is married, but there is something about that relationship she doesn't understand. Okay, a lot she doesn't understand. She sits down next to the man eying her in that pleasant, inviting manner and smiles.
