Our Parma book came with an enchanted device specifically intended to destroy it at range if things went badly wrong, and a Quaesitor outside the covenant holds an arcane connection to it (and a similar device).
So probably frowned on?
Note that due to the time spent at tribunal, people other than Fray (who didn't go) and Viola (who has even less time, and needs to be added to the chart) only have 2/3 of a season to spend on study, reducing their xp gain accordingly.
Ironboundtome: I think Fray should be getting 2xp from Exposure Experience in his lab seasons, rather than 1xp?
The 2/3 should round up, so 11xp -> 8xp rather than 7 xp.
(Also, I really don't like the practice of going back and editing things after people have responded to them, as it makes the subsequent comments nonsensical and means that anyone rereading the thread later can't tell what's going on. It's also harder to spot when something's been changed as there's no new post. Please can you therefore post updated versions of the table, rather than going back and editing the old one?)
I should make clear that I am more than willing to adjust my suggested advancement schedule if others want access to the same resources. Once we settle any reallocation I will post my final schedule.
On the issue of not needing a lab to read a lab text, would you not get the -6 to the lab total for not having a lab as per page 106 of Covenants?
Asena:
fall: half season 5xp greek
winter, spring: set up lab, 4xp exposure MT, 6p of vis
summer: Intellego summa 12xp Int
winter: Parma summa 11xp
spring: In the Laboratory, by Cuprincus Verditii. Magic Theory Tractatus, Quality 11.
summer: The Following Breeze 12xp Auram.
I was abit surprised to realize that she doesn't need her lab yet: She hasn't found her familiar yet, and a higher MT would be nice to create her bow Talisman. I am also a strict believer in raising arts to 5 as soon as possible so trivial spells can be sponted. her advencement does feel a bit odd since she doesn't go looking for her wolf right away, but that would probably require an adventure.
Thought this may be useful to track any of us wanting the same resource at the same time.

I think by read he means "invent a spell based off", which is a lab activity (with an associated Lab Total) and so does require a lab. However, Stephen's lab should be becoming available after Autumn 1228, as will Tasia's eventually (hopefully), so that shouldn't be an insurmountable obstacle.
I can see a reference to getting a -3 penalty if only a single season has been spent on set-up, but I can't see anything about a -6 penalty for being without a lab at all - am I missing something, or are you just doubling the -3 penalty? If the latter, I don't think it works that way.
My character hasn't personalized her lab yet.
She'd insist on a written promise of leaving it in the state it was was at the end of the time period, but she'd remove the sanctum marker for that time (I'm sure this can somehow be done magically without fuss). So others can use it.
