Seasonal Activities and Advancement

Wishbone will request the lab that comes available after Timaios and Asena get theirs.

Am I right in remembering that Viola spent one CP in one of the Autumn stories and two in the other? And she spent some vis in the sacrifice to "Demeter"--looks like 4 pawns for He and 1 of An. Anything else I should take note of?

She's going to take Re and An vis one year, and Re and um...Te, I guess, the next. She figures Gregorius needs the An for his familiar, and the Vim is needed for the Aegis. That does mean we're not swapping the An vis in the trade--let's trade Te instead.

Scott

I think you spent:

  • One confidence point assessing Symeon
  • One confidence point trying to impress Symeon
  • One confidence point trying to impress Chryse
  • One confidence point on her Faerie Lore roll to work out what the effect on the grain was
  • One confidence point stopping Ipek drinking the ritual drink

So 5 in total. Luckily she started with a lot of them!

Agreed on the 4 pawns of Herbam and one of Animal spent on Demeter. I don't think there's any need to change the trade Gregorius made if we assume Viola takes the Animal pawn in the first year, and he takes it in the second. And then everyone loves Rego?

So the trade was for Gregorius personally? I thought he was trading for the covenant. I'll have to adjust that.

Scott

You originally said:

It's not explicity, but I'd assumed that was a one-off trade by Gregorius (so he is suffering the "lost" pawn), and marked it as such on his character sheet. Are you thinking it's actually an annual trade by the covenant? That would explain how we end up with 4 pawns of Mentem in the stocks, but we don't have the Imaginem vis supply to keep that up (and I don't think Gregorius would want to trade away all of our Imaginem and Animal in perpetuity, especially with Viola being Imaginem focussed and Asena now expressing an interest in Animal).

No, it wasn't supposed to be annual--I just meant it was something that affected the covenant's stocks. However, it looks like I already resolved it, so I'll go back and change that. That does explain the 4 pawns of Mentem, though: there should be only 2, but I executed the trade twice.

Scott

Oh...for the record, Viola's wine casks probably produce more Im vis than she'll ever need.

Scott

The trade was carried out by the covenant rather than Gregorius, then? If so, I'll need to go back and change his vis history (as he's currently taking a pawn each of Imaginem and Animal, and then swapping them and another pawn he already had for two Mentem, whereas he'd have just taken the Mentem if it was the covenant doing the trade). That'll presumably then have a knock on effect on the covenant's vis stores.

If you want it to have been carried out by Gregorius, that's fine, too. Say the word, and I'll adjust accordingly.

Scott

I think it makes more sense to have it carried out by Gregorius - he wouldn't want the covenant to take the cost for something that's intended purely for his benefit.

Is he planning to use both pawns immediately? Otherwise, Viola is quite happy to have some Mentem around.

Scott

He's saving up to be able to bind Alcimus. So not immediately, but he has a specific purpose in mind.

OK, I've made the adjustment, but now I'm confused: we've got 4 pawns of Imaginem in the covenant stocks now, from a production of 5 for 1226 through 1230. That means only 1 pawn went to Gregorius, which leaves me to ask where he got the other pawn for the trade.

BTW, did you see my question about the wall cost?

Scott

I think he's taken two pawns of Imaginem? This is what I have down as his vis flow:

And Tasia for 1226-1227 took 1 Rego and 2 Terram.

I'm not positive when some of the vis sources kicked in, but there's definitely an extra pawn of Im, and I don't think that resulted from an accidental deduction to another art: the Terram source I don't think we harvested in 1226. I'm not sure when we started harvesting the Creo, but didn't we spend some of the Creo on harvesting that villager (in order to restore the familiar who did the healing)?

Thus, I'm deleting one pawn of Im from the vis stocks.

Scott

I can't find a post detailing how many XP's and CP's Viola got from the toy story. The XP's don't really matter, since, with the 6 from the Demeter story, she'll easily hit her limit of 10, but I do need to know if she earned a CP.

Also, I was looking at Constantine's advancement, and I somehow assumed that he could earn XP's from an adventure without penalty if he was with Viola. However, that's not what it says in our house rule on the subject: the Might penalty is reduced by 5, and only for Teaching or Training by the maga, or Exposure when working with the maga. Did we make a new rule and I didn't write it down?

Scott

If Tasia took two pawns of Terram, presumably we must have harvested the source in 1226? It only produces one pawn per year.

We did discuss changing the rules to be in line with the clarification that came out after we made the original House Rule, but I think we decided to keep them as they are. So probably just a mistake?

We must have: it's one of the more obvious sources, and, at any rate, we let Tasia take 2 pawns of it over a period of two years back when we actually remembered what was harvested when.

I believe so, but I wanted to doublecheck.

Any idea on that question about where the post giving XP's and CP's for the toy story is?

Scott

I can remember this question coming up last time and being equally stumped as I’m not sure how to weight the story. I can’t find the discussion either.
I’d say she earns a bonus Confidence due to facing the challenge and should recover points spent. Xp in used abilities as exposure if she’s close to the cap.

How are people getting on with their advancement now?

I think Gregorius, Fray and Wishbone are done (subject to any comments people have), Asena is mostly done but is missing a season of activity, and Viola and Timaios are still mostly to do? When do people expect to be able to complete, and is there anything you're waiting for in order to be able to do so?

MTKnife: I still need to run the Halia finale. Can you let me know when Viola wants to do it (and then possibly advance only to that point)?

JesseHeinig: I think Chryse is with you.

Is it just me, or is the forum really slow to load most pages?
