Justus will work out a deal with the other covenants. Doing good bussnies with our neghbours are important for hermetic relationships but Durenmar has the greatest collection of “left over booksâ€. I cut this short so that we won’t spend the next week deciding which books to buy.
Well I forgot to play the Justus part, I shall be more active in the future. Just have to think of some trouble he can up you in….
I prefer not to discuss something like Level/quality which is a pure game mechanic in character, although what we shoudl be getting is an in character thing.
I am trying to get books covering every subject requested with the best books being for those with the most votes. The problem with taking back 3 good books is that there are 7 magi who will not all be able to study the same book at the same time which causes problems
The Tractatii improved coverage of the arts at lower cost and have the advantage that they are not dependent on level reached. I estiamted that 4 tractatii on parma magica would get most magi around 60 Xp enougth to get me to about Parma 5 which is excellent abnd used up much less of our vis than a level 5 or 6 summae. Magic theory the tractatii where much better as we all already have decent levels of MT so a summae which would help us would be very expensive.
I thought at first we will copy all the summae.
If we divide our resources everybody gets a little. But next year we will have 28 vis again and who gets nothing now (s)he may choose the next year alone the following stoud summa.
we miss the opportunity to get some really good books. Maybe Justus will bargain/get gifts some tractatus or little summae.
If there are a lot of tractatus in our SG's world learning them is the best way for an advanced magus.
You can get 15 xps from tractatus only if you have a virtue. Otherwise a tractatus with Q10-11 is a good one.
Let here, if she wants...
Would you do some more shouting?
Nevertheless, she could have been blackmailed. If this should turn out to be the case, i got a plan. It involves Yannick being delivered in his adder form inside a basket full of make-believe arcane connections.
There are quite a lot of tractati in my mytic Europe. As they are a quite fast way of winning a reputation of a good writer. Being able to write one extraordinary summae takes years and years of studies but write one excellent tractatus in each of the fifteen art is accomplishable by any magi straight out of apprenticeship if it is a good writer.
For sound tractatii I was assuming Q10-11 which will give magi 10-15 xp depending on Int , I assume most mages have int of 2 or 3 , Mariella has 4 so 15 Xp is what I expect to get from a sound tractatii.
At the moment I think it more important to get a good number of adequate books rather than a fex excellent ones as a small number of books will make it difficult for all 7 magi to study
Of course the adding the int is a memory from 4th edition , I run and play in a 4th edition game as well so the rules occasionally mix in my head .
Does not change the argument but does change the numbers
I am opting out of further arguements on the books as I don't feel strongly about it and will have trouble posting tommorrow and don't want to slow things down.
Last plan:
L 20 and Q11 summae in Re and Pe and a L6 Q13 in Parma. cost: 20*2+18.
Q11 is a minimum in the case of summae so we rather choose lower level summa if they cannot provide this quality.
For the healing issue:
Co: L10 Q15 summa - 5 vis
A stronger variant of Purification of the Festering Wounds would be the ideal at lvl 25 if they have one - ? vis
An instant and serious healing spell is at 7th magnitude or more so it is high enough to learn for now.
The rest of the vis we spend on stoud Cr tractatus. We have 68 vis at hand.
I wrote these supposing they are able to provide them after a season.
Justus will start the negotiations soon. I will soon write up a ending piece for the Book journey and hope that we get an ending for the "At the covenant thread". Then it could be time for chapter two.
