Table talk: OOC

Basic skill, webspace, but definitely not the time for something like this :frowning: I'm already doing 3 things at once (watching the news, posting here, and chatting with a friend)

Got somthing done already...
I used latex, so I can get both pdf and html.
I'll spice it up later using vim and css.
Preview is at my website.

Looks ok, useful for gathering a lot of the information in one place.

If I get right we took all the vis away except 5 Co vis.

I just laughed out loud at the evil bitch. I dunno if this means the same in english, but she stole a piece of underwear in order to increase her penetration
Great (voluntary) joke here, max

Hey, quality of damaged books =18 minus level !
I was thinking on low level books but it would be good only to reach level 3.
Only a few even to a beginner. Vain “level” seems better with lvl 10 q15. It costs 5 vis in general.
I think the main thing is the case of the stoud books. We will see how many vis remain for the lesser ones. I think Henri has not got any sense of business maybe the magi of the following covenants.

As the books we purchase use up a lot of the covenants capital and will effect the future of the other magi a lot I'd like to make sure we have general agreement before purcasing books, I think it may be worth while besides aquiring some good summae to acquire either a number of tractaii spread out over several subjects to increase the range of study available or some vain Summae to give a base in subjects we may not be already skilled in
what was voted for
Parma Magica: 3 votes
Perdo: 3 votes
Rego: 2 votes
Creo: 2 votes
Terram or Vim: 1 vote
Muto: 1 vote
Corpus: 1 vote
Animal: 1 vote
Mentem: 1 vote
Penetration: 1 vote
Magic Theory: 1 vote
Imaginem: 1 vote

So I propose a vain tractatii each on Vim, Muto, Corpus, Animal, mentem, penetration, Magic theory and Imagone which we for which we offer 4 pawns of vis and 7 equivalant tractaii from our covenant in the future .
This helps make sure everyone gets something
(I propose for the near future we each voluntarily provide a season for the covenant and wrting up tractatii or spell notes would help the covenant greatly in building up our library with that season, Mariella will certainly contribute a season of her time to the covenant each year if others are willing)
Then we purchase as these are the 4 most popular choices (the preference goes to rego over creo as I think the magi onthe purchasing expeitions voted for it)
Level 19 Q12 Perdo Summae 19 pawns
Lvl 5 Q 15 Parma Summae 15 pawns
lvl 19 Q12 Summae Rego 19 pawns
3 Sound tractatii on Creo 6 pawns

Then we haggle , this of course renders travelling on to other covenants somewhat irrelevant ....

If we could repair the damaged books it would be worthwhile although I am not sure that we could.

Sorry, I miswrote it . Thanks for correcting me
And I'd say some level 8 Q 10 books are fine, for exemple: For about 15 pawns, we could cover every art, which would help every one of us while letting us vis for some better books, wouldn't it?

Yup, my point, too.

I am thinking of fast forwarding the story after the books have been purchased. So that we gather the magi in one place and start with the second chapter. Of course there is a matter of blonde woman that need to be resolved.

For the book purchases simply choose level for the summae and category (damaged, vain or sound) for the tractati and please come up with some titles. I vary the quality amongst the tomes to make the book a bit dissimilar.

I think the magi left the covenant and only the 3 on the way is able to discuss what to buy.
Tips for numbers are great anyway.

Andrew: I prefer Parma l6q13 because we could reach the 6th level.
With q15 to reach level 5 takes 5 seasons while with q13 it takes 5,38 (and it may go up to level 6).
We should concentrate our resources.

I think if there are a lot of good tractatus in the tribunal we can skip completely that excellent books.

In our tabletop game there is a rule every magus must work one season in 2 years for the covenant. And every joining magus must spend a whole year working for the covenant before he becomes a full member. I like these so Manius will suggest this on the next counsil.

So I completely agree with Andrew about writing a lot of tractatus.
We could even trade them in every covenant. The only problem is the slow copy speed. And don't remember we need a copy, too!
We need other 3 scribes!

Ok for me. We try to beat down the prices for purchasing a lot. And I want to see how many tractatus the covenants have for an art especially Cr and Me.
Which covenant is the greediest and offer more for our vis?
At least it costs them nothing but the time of their scribes.
If you can say a discount number we can calculate the rest quickly.

Pay the listed price and I throw in a few deal sweeteners depending on the bargain skill of the magi. Choose what covenant that you buys books from, they give you the same terms.

This is what I intend to ask for negotiations will be handled by Justus unless Manius Is much better at bargain than I expect I have no such skill at bargaining
Dealing with
Oculus Septentrionalis 27 Vis
Quality 12 Vain Summae on Creo and Vim
Quality 10 Vain Summa on Mentem, Imagonem and Corpus
Any Tractatii we can trade for Tractatii to be written by ourselves

Durenmar 47 vis
Quality 16 Summae on Perdo and Rego
Qaulity 10 Vain Summae on Animal
4 Sound Tractatii on Parma magica, 3 sound tractatii on Magic theory
2 Vain tractatii on Penetration

If Manius agrees with this purchase then Justus will begin negotiations...

Lets hope Hedwig is not a dangerous shapeshifting killing machine

 sure, let's hope so. I coulda played it waaaay more safely and cleverly, but I didn't feel it like the right reaction for a vengeful ardath

I'm not complaining just commenting, we all do silly/inspired/crazy things some times . Lets hope this one turns out all right

By the way, I loved the good cop/bad cop thingie, as well as the recovery of blood  Great teamwork there

Hey Max, I thought you do not want to act as Justus because he is your character ! It is boring if you always ask for a permisson for saying a word in his name. Or it is part of his personality?

Andrew, your last list has nothing to do to with our goals. Btw Max asked levels and not qualities.
But we could discuss about the theme in the story topic because it is absolutely an in character business.
Three topics had 3 votes so let us buy the best books we can in these.
I think level 20 is better in every art than 15 but if you and Max think otherwise no problem for me. Some people like better qualities. But the best case would be if Max, you would roll something for the exact level in this narrow field.
For Parma magica I think level 6 is better than level 5. But I would accept the result of the roll.
This would avoid the needless debates.
If the final levels are clarified we could discuss the fate of the remainder of vis.
This remainder can be between 11-24 so levels does matter a lot!

I am not against the tractatus but if it worth to buy or not depends on the general tractatus availability. How much tractatus are in the biggest available libraries to an art? For example to Creo? What are our experiences?
I made such calculations but not based on building points but simply using common sense. As a conclusion I think big libraries should have 40-50 tractatus in the popular arts. Popoular means arts which were or are the favourites of the long-ago or the present-day magi. But I am also sure half of them or more are only vain tractatus.

For the place of the purchase: Justus should decide the places because only he knows the political issues of our new covenant. Or where he is able to bargain extras.
