Table talk: OOC

I an thinking I can run another little side adventure if you want, something to fill the time until the other magi return.

I just have to buy you another beer when you visit Sweden. Please do run another story.

Two free beers are waiting for me in Sweden! I totally gotta fly out there now!

Give me until monday. I also gotta prep stuff for Andorra.

I have a short event carrying over from my last chapter, I can get that started

Work is kicking my @$$ this week, trying to get everything done before the holiday. I apologize for falling behind, and I'll get caught up with it.

Trying to get back.

Half a week away, lots of other stuff, and puf! You're lost!

In the same boat my friend
My advice is that you read up on what you can, but mainly worry about what is going on at the moment.

I added Leolinus to the novus Main wiki. I also added the two books you got from the adventure to the library.

Thanks!
I guess he counts as an ennemy? 8)

He is tagged as 'enemies'

Fixer, can you do me a favor and send me (via PM) the passwords for the Novus Mane and Andorra wiki's. I has edits to make

I think we are ready for a new Chapter thread. A single one, merge us back together. Call it "Homecoming"

I use my red hammer yet again. I skip the tribunal as a big story I just have to make up Aelianus creation for the magical item competition and post it in the OOC forum. We take the winter of 1220, spring, summer and autumn season to do some character developing and let the next story start at the beginning of winter in the year of 1221 (that is in my world late in the year of 1221).

Awesome. Yeah, we are small fish for the Tribunal. Lets play out the next one instead (1227), after we have developed.

However, I do think we should write off the Spring Season as time spent at Tribunal, taking 5xp in Oder of Hermes Lore or Normandy Lore or something. Even if not, that season should still be forfitted. Just my opinion.

I will contemplate my development and write up a paragraph or two about how I spend my year.

So the current council meeting is a year in the future or current and then we will skip a year into the future?

Okay, I am saving Roberto for last. I want to get him just right. Now, I happened to notice that the two grogs I created, Pedro and Carlos, have never been updated or edited. Not once. So they have two full years of development to go through. ArM5, p163, normal characters have two seasons of work and two “free” seasons per year. This free time is spread throughout the year, so they can only undertake study that would fit in their work schedule. They still get two Exposure xps for each season of work. So in total, each of these grogs is due 4 seasons Exposure and 4 free seasons of Practice.

Pedro Herrero is a blacksmith and a shield grog. When I created him, I forgot to give him a score in Profession-Solider, which is supposed to be part of his back story. So out of 8xps Exposure (2 x 4 seasons), I put 5xps in Profession-Soldier and 3 in Craft-Blacksmith. The season in Toledo counted as work as a shield grog. For his four “free” seasons, he spends two seasons learning the local language (16xps Flemish), one learning local area lore while plying his trade (5xps Novus Mane Area Lore), and one practicing Craft-Blacksmith (4xps). Of his seasons of work time as a shield grog, one season was spent in Toledo (where he didn’t do much) and one was spent drilling with other the few grogs (so they can fight as a trained unit). The results are that he gains Profession-Soldier 1 (shield grog), Novus Mane Lore 1 (local craftsmen) and Flemish 2 (1xp) (local slang). His Craft-Blacksmith score of 6+2 doesn’t change, but he has 7xps towards the next level.

Carlos Guiterez is a shield grog and a slacker. As with Pedro, I forgot Profession Soldier, which is supposed to be part of his background. So I am putting 5xps towards that and 3 towards Carouse. Of his work seasons, one was in Toledo and another was in drills with the other grogs (what few we have). Of his four “free” seasons, he spends two learning Flemish (16xps), one season on local Area Lore by exploring the area (7xps), and one season on Carouse (4xps). He gains Profession-Soldier 1 (shield grog), Novus Mane Lore 1 (2xps) (where the party’s at) and Flemish 2 (1xp) (local slang). Carouse 4 doesn’t change, but he has 5 xps towards the nest level.

Marko’s suggestion of the tribunal is a sound one. We can expect the tribunal to take a great deal of the season in terms of travel and attending though this affects Aelianus schedule somewhat, I thought that the tribunal where in the summer season. But the only impact is that Aelianus will have to postpone the crafting of Dragor’s wolf cloak but as compensation Aelianus gets to watch David make all sorts of excuses until the Autumn when Aelianus can save the time.
Winter – Aelianus craft is competition entry. He crafts a figurine depicting the Roman goddess of Trivia. Trivia is the roman equivalent of Hecate. Aelianus tries to enhance the mystical aspects of Trivia and conducts some experimentation with the aesthetical form of the figurine. Due to some good rolling and some well spent time Aelianus gets an aesthetic quality of 12 (craft score 6 + 1 for extra time, +1 for Artes and then + 8/2 for lucky rolling). Even if his mirror will not win any beauty contest it will at least not be hurting anyone’s eyes.
The figurine prevents any decaying in human or animal tissue or any fluids or vegetarian product in the same room as it is placed. If used as a laboratory equipment piece it gives the lab the preserved virtue. CrAn(He,Co,Aq) 24 (Base level 2, +1 touch, +2 sun, +2 room, +1 size, +4 levels for constant effect). It can affect a room up to 4000 square feet.
Spring – Tribunal, 5xp in Order of Hermes lore with Normady speciality. Initiation into confraternity gains affinity with Ignem and defficency with Aquam. Aelianus will purchase some magical items but more on those later.
Summer – Craft wolf cloak for Dragor. 2xp in magic theory.
Autumn – Studies Wintry Grey, 15xp due to affinity. New score in Ignem 5(3)

No problem AT ALL!!!

I was just saying this in character, so don't worry

I Think we have miscounted the seasons. I thought it was Winter when I went to Toledo. Tribunal would be Spring, wich just leaves Summer and Fall.

And, instead of a aimple 5xps for the Tribunal, I have an alternate idea. A Story contest. We each write a story of our individual exploits at tribunal, and then we vote on which is best. Use some kind of scoring system so that you gain a minimum of 5xps but can gain as many as 10 or more, depending on how good your story is.

Any comments or suggestions or alternate ideas?

Because the seasons change at/near the solstices/equinox the Winter season begins in end of December and ends in march. If we follow through to plan we will have Winter,Spring, summer and Fall. and then back to Winter 1222
