“I don’t see why not. It would be nice to see Sonarus [Bran’s parens] and they are a welcoming group. We may be asked to aid in the singing though.”
"Will you introduce is hjem, Bran, who know the place and the people?"
You are accommodated at Qui Sonant, and are in fact required to participate in the singing. A quick check indicates the spoon is still present in the graveyard, and in the morning you can set out for the regio entrance.
So they do, make their way toward the regio. As they come out earshot, he remarks, «all that singing, certainly not a place to apply for a place. ... Come on, down here, and we'll find a decent path.» He has scouted out a usable path on his last visit, and can lead the way, at least until they get close to their destination.
Bran does not respond but he thinks to himself how the music felt like home.
As you proceed up the mountain, Ronan spots the entryway to the regio 1000 feet up the mountain, marked by a large granite boulder.
Ronan's player is long gone. Is it a typo? Or an NPC?
Speaking of which. Is Ronan still there, as an NPC? Did he leave the game? Or has he been retconned out of the game?
I missed that he was Nadimsuer. He never actually left the group in story, so he would still be there- he will point out the entrance (if for no other reason than the fact he is the only one with second sight). I'll figure out what to do with him shortly.
«Oh, brilliant Ronan,» says Arnar. «Quite a climb.»
As they push on to ascend, Arnar walks slowly, to study the area as they pass through it. Are there any traces of the what might inhabit the regio?
Up until the rock itself there is no sign of what might inhabit the regio, save for a magical aura of level 2 that exists over much of the mountain.
«Can you see how to enter it, Ronan? I see nothing.»
"It looks like it is... under the rock....." The rock looks to weigh about 50 tons.
«Under the rock? We need to move it?» Arnar studies it for a while. Is there a hole underneath it?
"There's a... not exactly hole, but a threshold that seems like a hole. I don't know if we need to move the rock or go through it. Either way I'm wagering that wildlife wandering in isn't an issue."
«Well, we have to count on your lead, Ronan. If it is necessary, I can have a go at moving it. Only one way to find out if I can ...»
"Probably easier to move it than go through it."
Arnar lays his hands on the stone an stares at it. He has no need for voice and gestures, so that's all he does as he casts the spell he knows, to lift and push the stone slightly to the side of the opening. He has never tried it on something this big though, and has no idea whether it will work.
OOC. Rolled 4 + 10 + aura. Spell succeeds. The following is copied from the character sheet.
ReTe15 Porter's Gentle Touch [touch/sun/ind/size +1]
Similar to Unseen Porter [ArM5], but reduced range increased size,
and no height limit on the movement. Effectively the wizard can
move huge loads by the touch of his finger.
The stone is massive, but being granite it is smaller than 10 cubic paces, and you are able to lift the stone into the air. Underneath the stone is a formation in the ground which looks like a giant head which has been caved in, apparently by the rock itself hurled at great speed. In this indentation is the entrance to the regio.
Arnar puts the stone gently down to one side. «Well, what do you think, sodales? You know how to enter, Ronan?»
"I see the entrance, but I can't be certain..." Ronan touches the entrance with his foot, which does not open the entrance. He pulls his foot back and jumps into the air, coming down in the middle of the entrance and slipping right through, disappearing into whatever world lies beyond.
