the pilgramage begins: Fall 1200

Iustina sees the sail caught and filling with wind pulling the ship and she runs up to the upper deck and to the sail before casting.

[Attempting to cast PeHe on the sail. Looks like it would be base 4, touch +1 mag = 5. Fatiguing Spont +2 Sta +8 Pe +0 He = (Stress + 10 + Aura?)/2 = 13/2 = 6.5 assuming no aura]

The sail disintegrates into dust which is blown away in the wind (there is no aura) but the ship is still careening towards the rocks, already pulled close enough for the waves to do the job, if less violently.

(OOC: sound like we have no seasoned sailor on board as neither did they strike the sails nor did they go anchor what are the 1st and 2nd thing to be done when a storm brews.)

[OOC: Considering this storm could have come on in a moment if it’s of infernal, divine, or other nature.]

Alexandros raises an eyebrow at the disintegrating sail, still holding tight onto the railing. He looks out for the two fellow travellers that he is starting to get to know, just to see how they are battling.

As the ship is careening, he tries to judge if it is possible to get to shore, by jumping into shallow water, or onto a cliff.¹

And, most of all, I should like to hear what the crew does.

¹ Per+Awareness 7 if it is relevant.

The crew is in disarray, though most are following the captains orders which are slightly behind events- most of them are still in the middle of trying to free the now non-existent sail, others are bailing water from the boat, while two large crewmen with axes are running around chopping off bits of the ship which threaten to do more structural damage. Four crewmen are just now breaking out the oars.

So the ship is still floating? Alexandros relaxes and keeps watching. Ready to move in a hurry, but apparently calm and disinterested.

[Just an FYI, she openly cast the spell, normal voice and gestures so however folks who saw might respond to that I don’t know.]

Alexandros did not hear the incantations over the wind, the shouting crew, and the screaming passengers.

Falk check if trough some animal the existing panic / chaos is increased and if so try to calm that animal despite he him self is far from calm.

There are panicking horses that Falk moves to calm.

The Animal Handling + Com roll is 7 (11 if Animal Ken add to this roll as well ... but not sure about this) for calming them down.

As he talks to them animal ken will be added. Those who brought the horses on board thank Falk profusely, and start looking to see if they can best help by adding the horses strength or getting out of the way, save one man who panics, mounts his horse and attempts to ride it into the waves on the far side of the ship from the rocks. The sound of his and his horses body being dashed against the side of the ship can be heard over the storm.

Falk find a hold near the horses for now. In silent prayer he hope that the sailor and the magus manage to prevent the worst.

Not seeing any further way she might be able to safely help the ship, Iustina quickly moves to the side of the ship away from the rocks and finds something that will hopefully float which she holds tightly to.

After two more surges towards then away from the rocks the ship finally impacts and begins breaking up on the rocks. Fortunately is gets wedged into the rocks before 1/4 of it is gone. The wind and rain rage on for a bit, but it becomes clear the ship will not break up further and the storm dissipates.

When the storm begins dying down Iustina looks for other survivors in the boat, seeing if any need help. In particular she seeks the blind man and crippled woman. Any that seem well enough to help she enlists but doesn’t waste time arguing if they refuse. Any who are injured she tries to provide what little first aid she can [chirugy of 1] unless someone else seems more suited to that.

Is the place our ship is stranded suitable to evacuate the people and animals?
If so Falk help bringing the animals from board while also looking for a place he later can use to hidden change to his second nature, falcon.

It is not favorable for a place to evacuate from but it isn't as though here are readily apparent alternatives, so people are managing.
As the group makes its way to shore picking their way through rocks and wreckage, they notice an assembly of soldiers has arrived on the beach. They are not from the Ottoman Empire.

Alexandros finds a sure footing, and uses his size and strength to help the frailer pilgrims into the short. When he spots the soldiers, he straightens up with a firm grip on his staff. He looks carefully, trying to gauge their intent and origin.
