I don't know if Finis terrae will ever get an English translation but I'm curious to know what updates it has regarding the hermetic customs of the land.
What are the interesting quirks and themes going on in region? The Rhine has guilds and a gerontocracy going on, Normandy is more tied to mundane life and has tournaments, and Thebes has more of a cooperative bent along with covenant patrons.
What are the interesting aspects of life an Iberian hermetic mage has to deal with?
Basically it’s about integration of cultures, both magical and mundane. In a region that has been ruled by different Muslim dinasties for centuries, that has a strong Jewish presence and that now has increasingly strong Christian kingdoms, the focus is how all of that creates turmoil, but also a new identity for the people. Hermetically, the Tribunal has just resolved a recent “schism”, when there were actually two separate Tribunals coexisting, one in the North and another in the South, that have only recently merged into one. Much blood was shed in recent conflicts and the real challenge now is to forget past feuds and start a new, common path.
Of course there are many more interesting things, from Hemetic magi helping (covertly or otherwise) mundane lords to a “pirate” Verditius covenant in the Balearic Islands to covenants breaking the truce with sahirs to settle northern Africa to Mercer houses in opposite corners of the Tribunal vying For political and commercial power.
I suggest buying the PDF and running sections through chatgpt or similar to read it. Chatbots are remarkably decent these days. Just don’t use it for translating documents that you need for legal purposes.
Finis Terrae was not published by Blagdaross, but rather by the previous publisher in Spain, Holocubierta, that ceased operations last year. The PDF was available here (Juegos de Rol: Finis Terrae: El Tribunal de Iberia PDF), but the publisher’s shop is no longer working.
OK, so it’s not just me then. Because I’ve been trying for a while to find a place to buy the PDF just like HTH suggested to no avail. I did find the old Holocubierta link but I’d thought there must be a newer link somewhere.
