WaRP SYSTEM OPEN LICENSE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Over the Edge’s rules have been released as the WaRP System under the Open Game License, as part of our year-long celebration of Over the Edge's 20th anniversary. This means that you, our passionate community, have the freedom to create and share your own content with the world!

I've created this thread as a place for you to post your own Open License announcements. Let us know about any Open License material you've created as it becomes available.

You're welcome to post a link here to your material, but please put conversations into another thread to keep this one clutter-free. Also note that Atlas Games doesn’t endorse any of the material announced here.

We’re all looking forward to seeing the amazing directions you'll take the WaRP System!

IMPORTANT NOTE: START A SEPARATE CONVERSATION THREAD FOR YOUR NEW RELEASE BEFORE YOU POST HERE, AND INCLUDE THAT LINK AT THE END OF YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT.

Post-Apocalyptic Vampire Wars

by Brett Fitzpatrick, Starbright Illustrations

This is role-playing game set after the apocalypse. In 2050 the worst symptoms of environmental collapse began to be seen. The fall of civilization did not come suddenly, it came slowly and inexorably. Dust came in a swirling blanket, carried by wind storms, gradually spreading across the whole globe, and blocking out direct sunlight. Even as the skies dimmed, temperatures climbed and then there came a time of destruction.

Crops failed without sunlight, wars over scarce resources spread across the surface of the planet. Wars fought by people and by newly designed robots. And, without direct sunlight, an ancient scourge was able to emerge from the shadows. Vampires began to stalk the land.

Some small pockets of civilization have survived the cataclysm that destroyed their world. These tiny communities are sometimes built in the remains of once glorious cities, sometimes they are isolated outposts in the desert. At the helm of each compound is a warlord, cult leader or other form of dictator. Living in the compound means you don't starve to death and aren't ripped to shreds by desert crazies. People will give up many freedoms in order to be safe, and most warlords run their compound with an iron hand.

For activities that are risky and benefit the compound, there are incentives. The brave warriors and scavengers who go out on raids, and who bring back the supplies needed for the compound to survive, are the nobility of the community. Join them, climb into your customized battle car and compete for the scarce resources of a blasted world, stalked by horror, with glory the only reward.

Bitter Tears at Sad Mary’s Bar and Grill LARP

by Scott Beattie & Tonia Walden, Society of Interactive Drama

Sad Mary's Bar and Girl. Located off the Plaza of Flowers, this is a popular hang-out on The Edge. The stone building has two stories and overlooks the plaza. Above the door is a statue of Mary, pregnant and weeping into her hands. Only the words "Bar and Girl" appear on the face of the building. Most nights this seedy dive is crammed with cutthroats, scumbags and lowlifes - drinking, dealing and jostling for the best place to view the fights. The venue features a stage on which the management hosts fights, exotic dancers and performance art (such as Francesca and her Leather Friends, Volt-Eater, the Masked Maniac, Antonio and the Power Drill of Love and Cooking with Hans and Ivan - only for those with the strongest of stomachs). Tonight, however, it is New Years Eve and the majority of the Al Amarjan citizens are on the streets, celebrating, thieving or cutting throats. The bar is quiet with just ten customers, enjoying the quiet away from the carnival. There are no fights tonight and Joe and Evangeline are the only staff present. It looks like it is going to be a quiet night.
