I've tried doing that in the various misc RP threads, changing the title in my replies to something like "Fiona and Alexei" or "Fiona and Korvin", but that only works if everyone who replies changes the subject line. If you quote a specific post, it keeps the new title (I'm pretty sure). But if you just hit "Reply", then it defaults to the main thread title.
I'm really wanting to explore the master/apprentice relationship between Vocis and Mica. I'd intended for Vocis to be more of a homebody the next few years to focus on her training and integrating her into his family. He'll also need time to close some of his own training gaps that I've identified during the drake hunt.
As for Bernhard, as long as Vulc is running around getting into trouble, I'm getting what I want out of him.
I would like to see some pulse/downtime for our characters happening in between stories, so that lab-focused characters like mine can have some time to work on projects.
So, did we ever decide how (or if) to handle this? I've got an idea for Vibria and Vulcanus for after the Drake Hunt thread I'd like to do. Should I go ahead and do a "1230.etc: Vibria and Vulcanus" thread or something?
Sure. I am not so keen on JL's naming convention, as I like the old school "chapter (etc.)" method that we used to use in Novus Mane (this saga, as far as PbP is concerned, evolved from this where I learned the format from). But maybe that system works better. But no matter, if I don't like the titel, I has the power to alter it. Combining threads, though I guess it is possible, I don't know how to do that. That is why I use the IIIb, IIIc style.
I shall be implimenting these ideas this week. Been busy. NRA convention this weekend (National Restaraunt Association, I got to cook for Anthony Bourdain ).
So, just do what youy do. Free form it. We shall settle on the style that works for us.
I do wanna create a google doc for seasonal planning and vis stores. like Bibracte has. I find that very useful. If anyone knows how to do that, I would be grateful for the assistance. See, I am not as well educated as I pretend to be. Autodidact. I taught myself programming languages and all sorts of nifty tricks, but I have no idea how to do anything I have not done before Once I learn something, it seems like I always knew that something. But that is because IRL I spend my confidence points liberally and I have the Self Confident Flaw (yes, IRL it is a flaw, not a virtue).
I am not really keen on using a googledoc because no one here needs to know my middle name, and managing multiple google accounts is a pain. Wikis can include tables, can we do that instead?
I suppose so. Not sure how to build tables. Yet. The Seasonal Planner chart I was envisioning would consist of a column for each character, and the rows on down are for Season & Year (Winter, Spring, Summer, & Fall). We will start out using small cycles of 3 or four years. You predict what you would most likely do in future seasons, and you can make sure no two peaople are using the same book in the same season.
Every character would be a part of at least one story within that block of time. Appply what you planned to your stats up to that point, and in terms of coordination, you can see what everyone else is up to at that frame of time. Then, obviously, events of the story may cause you to decide the course of future plans, so we need to be able to edit the table.
As for the Sand Box thread, it can actually be many threads. All that is needed is a title and date.
I can do one on the wiki, but it won't be easier to change than on the forum. It is possible, though.
Google Docs... This should be accessible for all of you: docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... sp=sharing
If this works, I'll do one for the vis stocks. I'm not sure one can change it without having a google account, though
I'll put it on the wiki, but later, I have work now :-/
It's not very difficult, but it's easy to get lost.
For exemple, you have
||~ Year||~ Season||~ Arachné ||~ Carmen||~ Gardaitis||~ Guillaume ||~ Vibria||~ Vocis||~ Vulcanus||
|| 1230 || Winter || cell-content || cell-content || cell-content || cell-content || cell-content || cell-content || cell-content ||
And you must count that, for exemple, gardaitis is the 3rd cell-content after the season, to replace "cell-content" by what you want.
Which is why, IMO, a google spreadsheet is easier, because you see what you're editing and have no risk of editing the wrong cell.
Truth be told, I did a similar thing in the old saga, but, even though it was simpler, I was the only one to update it: andorra.wikidot.com/1220
Now, the Bibracte google spreadsheet doesn't require you to be logged in Google, but I don't know how JL managed it :-/
EDIT: I DID IT!!!
Now, anyone can edit the spreadsheet, whithout being connected. I've put up the link on the first page of the wiki, for easy reference: andorra.wikidot.com/
Note also that you can check the current library here. Btw, where lab texts for spells stolen too, or have I just missed them?
I just added a bunch to the library on the wiki, and details for each book. I had a list of lab texts somewhere around here, but that is another project I am working on updating further. But I'm pretty sure we made a list and it may be in a tabletalk thread.
I also posted a new announcement thread, "Covenant of Andorra". The membership list is right towards the top, and each name is a link to the magus' character sheet. My plan is to unsticky the characters ( ), but the links kept up top makes for ease of access.
Stikies will be used for active stories & roleplaying threads, unstickied when their time has passed and new stickies crop up as the saga continues.
That's my thinking anyway. But I await your input and arguments
I want to start preparing for the next batch of stories, running somewhere within the next cycle of five years. My ideas so far (and thoughts on potential participants) include...
Mission Impossible story run by Ryu, to include any who are interested (Carmen for sure, Estaban & Vibria would be cool)
Vault of Valdarius story, involving dealing with the contents inside (which inlude a mysterious brass bottle). I want to include Vulcanus in on this for sure, maybe Arachne, and depending on how things play out who knows what could happen.
A Duresca story involving Soloman, Guillaume, Kesara, and
Metron
.
Something involving Vocis, Gardiatius, the refugee heretics, and something really ghoulish.
Tiana and Fedora renegotiating a contract for a Mercere House, maybe resulting in big rewards and harsh consequences.
When 1235 rolls around, the regional tribunals of Iberia and Provencal meet. Andorra still maintains it's neutral status, but there are still political pressures and interests and influences. Maybe we might want to send visitors to each, or at least agents to observe the proceedings and report back to us.
I am open to all sorts of other ideas, including stories any of you want to run. I am compliling a list soon, to include every story flaw and hook at play in this saga as well as potential ideas that crop up.
