Whch flambeau is flambeauy-ist?

Arrgh!! so I did, and she's not even a ghost

So far I see four suggestions essential flambeau characteristics:
Xavi said

I see three magi with knightly associations Ranulf swore the code of Garus and has a bit of knightly ideals guiding his actions as a member of the Milites, Hugh is a dutiful soldier who probably the best among the poll choices embodies the ideal of prudhomme, and Eustace while not having sworn to a code apparently holds knightly ideals and has taken on a knightly challenge in a knightly way and even dresses the part and carries himself in the manner of a knight.

slightly differently Xavi said

I think that Eustace most clearly has a goal against which to test himself, Hugh seems to be in search of worthy opponents

Yair said

It looking at the personality traits it seems to me that Hugh is the most rash and warlike but he doesn't win this judgment by much the core book flambeau is plenty rash and warlike

Jean Michelle and Yair both suggest that ignem users are more flambeau than magi who follow other schools of combat

leaving Pitsdim aside for a moment there are two real ignem specialists here and it seems to me that the core book flambeau uses ignem to vanquish her fores and Ranulf uses it for pretty much everything. In this way I think that the core book flambeau is more true to the spirit of the founder than Ranulf.

I voted for Hugh originally and considering the thoughts of others I've become happier with my choice.

It is interesting to note that Phillipus has the most votes and he doesn't (IMO) best fit any of the characteristics suggested by Jean Michelle, Yair, and Xavi. (He scores high in combat worthiness and style however and those are two of the three things asked for in the first post)

:smiling_imp:
Of the choices given, I chose Philipius Niger because he is such a classic Apromor magus!

But, in my opinion, the most true to idea form of any Flambeau magus is right here...

The most awesome Roberto of Flambeau. Five years out of gauntlet and he can multicast five PoF's with a Penetration of 20+. He is a bit reckless and given to moments of machismo, but he places honor and justice before his own petty desires.
So far, Roberto has accomplished the following...

  • Saved the covenant by defeating a knight that threatened us in single combat, then making close friends and allies with said knight
  • Participated in a battle where we defeated the Witches of Thesally
  • Flew a ship accross the English channel. I said I was gonna do it, no one believed I could, I rolled a "1" followed by a "10" and still had to drop two points of Confidence on it, but I flew the damn ship
and many more heroic deeds that are too numerous to list here

Another character with four levels of mastery in PoF! I knew they were out there. Did you look at Patient spell + Boreal flames from Magi of Hermes? (Group wizard's boost, Ignem at level 30 is going to be a bit beyond Roberto's grasp for a while)

nods
Roberto is a classic flambeau, I like him a lot  Especially with his habit of trying "impossible" feats and succeeding (The boat wasn't the only thing he did)
And then, there's my batmanto your hal jordan, although I need to update slightly his personnailty traits (he's changed slightly since his gauntlet). Roberto and Wirth make such a nice pair!!!

Wirth is totally Batman
He simply has to look at someone menacingly in order to intimidate them!
