Winter 1228- the disappearing Mingus

Anastasia would be interested in the lab with the auspicious shape at the top of the tower. What would be the size of the lab? I'm guessing the lab would have elevated as a free virtue?

Labs are a net size:1. The two labs in towers do have the elevated virtue. Essentially 2 ground floor labs are hexagonal, and 2 are not (the covenant was designed for 6 magi).

Lena is going for a ground-floor lab with auspicious shape (not part of a dedicated building). Magi come first, so if a magi wants it, she will grumble a bit but take a hike and grab something else.

Lena and Anastasia's page updated with laboratory stats.

All the ground floor labs are dedicated buildings, that's simply how Mingus constructed the covenant.

I thought two of the four ground labs were part of the towers, and two were dedicated buildings. Corrected to include the virtue. I assigned the +1 for Vim to +1 Reagents, and did not assign the +1 for Rego as it doesn't fit nicely into philosophical lab bonus. Would +1 to safety from less distraction make sense instead of a Rego bonus? Should I ignore the +1 Re or do something else with it?

ignore it, it exists but your science cannot take advantage of it.

Schwartz would chose a ground floor lab in an auspicious shape, in a dedicated building, if one is available. We still need to dedicate two seasons to setting up our lab, correct?

Magi need two seasons to setup a new lab where none exists. It doesn't require seasons to take over a lab that is functional. So you would only need to spend those seasons if you're not happy with the existing labs (for ex. if you want a bigger one). With your pick, we would have:

  • Lab 1: Top of tower - Size +1, Elevated, Superior Construction, Auspicious Shape - Anastasia
  • Lab 2: Top of tower - Size +1, Elevated, Superior Construction, one free virtue spot - empty
  • Lab 3: Ground Floor - Size +1, Superior Construction, Dedicated Building, Auspicious Shape - Lena
  • Lab 4: Ground Floor - Size +1, Superior Construction, Dedicated Building, Auspicious Shape - Schwartz
  • Lab 5: Ground Floor - Size +1, Superior Construction, Dedicated Building, one free virtue spot - empty
  • Lab 6: Ground Floor - Size +1, Superior Construction, Dedicated Building, one free virtue spot - empty
  • Elsewhere, possibly underground to fit his teleporting Size +3 lab - Kriegeist
  • Still trying to figure out his lab - Elia

The buildings which do not have auspicious shape are simply smaller, they do not have a free virtue spot.

Until she has the vis to build her own lab, Elia will use one of the dedicated building/superior construction labs.

Kriegeist takes the last ground floor lab, after discovering that the excavation project will be very risky and draining.

So Lab 2 should remain empty and available.

(FYI his lab was size 0, the size 3 was his now abandoned intent to expand.)
