The tainting on the rats is pretty mind, roll for inspiration with a +5 to target.
Would that just be a d10+5 then?
If it is same as before with a magic theory + int roll then I got a 23
standard is int+magic theory with a target of 18. Technically I should probably have penalized the roll by 5 instead of increasing the target number, it looks like you read this backwards and went 5 the wrong direction, adding to your roll when it should have raised the target number or subtracted from the roll instead.
It does seem I misunderstood what you meant. If then I'd subtract 10 and get 13
With a minus 5 though I will not succeed without bonuses. Is there a way to improve my chances or else I will probably try and come up with another way

how far have you advanced? Normally I try to check work every decade, but you haven't indicated that it is ready to be checked, at the same time you are handling a lot of research... which if all of this has occurred in a decade might be considered obsessive.
Well I was unaware you would have liked to check it every decade and yes this has all occurred in the same decade. At the rate the research progresses this will take 11-12 years to develop. I wanted to get the virtue out of the way at the end of character gen.
I don't want to walk you through steps too much- you have a demon's name, and will probably want spells to summon and control him in order to study him- decide what might and type of demon you would have selected as well- obviously more powerful demons can be greater sources of insight but also a greater danger of falling under their power or influence...
I do appreciate you not trying to walk me through the steps. If you did I wouldn't be able to learn the system as well as I could. I'll develop spells to study and control him. Then I select a type of demon. I'll try and get this done within a few hours.
I got the spells I think I need and would like to summon a Vessel of Iniquity Infernal Might of 30. An example would be Golab, Foe of the Seraphim. I would use the spell Adjuration of the Hell-Sworn Spirit into a Circular Ward Against Demon's both are infernal might 30 to hold and summon
