Gerard is a yes on everything. (Vote was yes on the bigger list, too.)
@silveroak @anon86424056 Leaf will ask Constansa the Trobairitz to aid him in recruiting a servant and a person not a servant to hang out in his Lab.
Note that he is using the services of Úrsula the grog for Figurine magic. In 1198 she created a wooden figurine that gave Leaf Book Reader for 4 Seasons.
He has spoken to the other Magi about the potential for this magic, so that they may avail themselves of her mystic aid. She can also potentially assist him in the Lab, as they have a similar Virtue (by silveroak's Saga rules), and are attuned in this way, if I am not mistaken.
superior equipment and tools would require effort on the part of a merchant to locate such supplies.
He will inquire amongst his sodales if any have this sort of Lab equipment, and how they came to acquire it. (believe Gerrard has this sort of equipment)
Cool, let's see what this costs, and we can add, as the Redcap list is new.
TBH I just spent the seasons to add the virtue; in the knowledge that as a wealthy covenant the upkeep is a non-issue. But ofc Gerard will share the information. Probably supplied via redcap (transported from the covenant out there somewhere that magically crafts lab equipment as its income source.)
The book list has an OK for me and as for getting Constanza's aid, she's more than happy to help out with whatever social interactions the magi may need aid with.
Those are Free Virtues, that is, they do not take a lot of time to install, just the funds.
Oh, that's a good point. Well the logic re: covenant income applies; that matches up with what Silveroak has decided elsewhere, too.
Sorry. I am lost. «New redcap list»? Was there a list of all available somewhere?
The art books cos 43pvf if prices are canon. I have no idea about the arcane lores.
Two seasons worth of study beyond the one we have. Useful, but poor cost/benefit ratio.
Silveroak announced it in the Provencal Discord thread when Plot_Device and I were chatting about books, the link is in the main page of the Wiki, http://amfightorflight.wikidot.com/redcap-text-sales-list
Thanks. Now I understand.
I would prefer 12/19 Ignem Who wants to read it at what level? Jerome will not read read it beyond 11 at most for the next 25 years at least.
Is the MT really worth while? Nobody will read it more than one season I think, until we get apprentices.
All the lores are useful. Area Lores can probably be found in Toulouse. Is Mareilla literate?
Not married to it, if others think 12/19 is a better choice, I'll edit.
Not set on it. However, it is a better book than what we currently have, both in L and in Q. It could also be potentially read by grogs/companions. For the Magi, It is only useful to Lutra and Leaf, so I can remove it, or move it to the bottom of the list.
She is. She can certainly look for such works, if asked. In fact, she can probably look for other mundane books that may be found in Toulouse or Avignon, and can make contacts in Paris.
Alienor is fine with all those purchases though she would hope that our Creo, Muto, and Imaginem Vis is not used to buy them as she has some ideas for empowering her familiar bond that might require them.
@silveroak do any of the specialists in Bentalone have teaching as an additional ability? If not, how would one go about finding a specialist with a high score in Teaching and Single Weapon?
a retired crusader or other person of noble employment is likely your best chance...
Can we just say we find one and add them? Or does it require a story?
Make him up as a grog and introduce him to Jerome in Paris?
Not a bad idea, actually, I'll do that.
Edit: I literally made someone, rolled his aging, and he died. (Well, technically he was at 4 decrepitude, but still.) So abandoning that plan.
@silveroak Gerard will send a letter to Harco asking if they can find him a weapons instructor, and requesting a book on Teaching.
Harco doesn't do personnel recruitment.
They will look into locating a book on teaching.
Wasn't sure if they did inter-covenant recruitment. Is there anyone that does?
If you have a relationship with another covenant that you wish to ask this is a valid approach, but there are no professional head hunters in the 13th century (unless you are being rather more literal about the term)
