With Esteban distracted by the entrance of the lovely Carmen, Laetitia unveils her basket of italian pastries, hoping to draw Esteban's attention back to her (through his stomach....) There, amidst a few remaining morsels, lies her bloated, overfed mink, happily sleeping away the morning.
("What are you gonna do in that rig, flounce around the engine room? Be like a sheep walkin' on its hind legs!" --Malcolm Reynolds)
The Italian maga looks at the crumbs and sighs heavily. "Ah well. You'll need the energy to carry me on your back across the Spanish countryside." She turns back to the magi with a cheerful smile. "No matter, I have packed some toasted almonds and dried figs that would make an equally satisfying breakfast on the road."
Esteban regains control of his jaw muscle after a few seconds. He is afraid of where all this is going but at the same time he is enjoying the ride. He tries to make some small talk and does remember to thank Laetitia for the boots. "I really like the style, as you see they fit me perfectly."
I also want to point out that there is a metagame reason why Carmen is not a virgin.
She is my character and I am the one who has to play her. I personally think virginity is gross and icky. It makes me very uncomfortable, especially considering she is in her 30's. It really is nothing more than that.
[color=green]Carmen: [color=red]It isn't a long walk to Barcelona. Maybe a week? I know places we can stay in villages between here and there. There is a quaint little town we can reach by sunset, and the tavern there that will serve us tapas and wine all night long if we desire.
Estaban, I can lead the way, but I will need you to handle any interactions with mundanes. My Blatant Gift is somewhat disconcerting to some people .
I have assigned five custos to escort you guys. I invite you guys (Andrew, Sally, and Eric) to each pick one from the existing list in the Character Sheets thread. Or generate a new Grog using the existing examples as a template.
Anyone else who wants to get in on this story can also pick or create a grog and play them. As I hope you all realize by now, I do not treat grogs as inferiors or minor side characters.
I will let you do that if Andrew approves (since Estaban is Alexandro's old chum and was asked to chapperone his sister). I think that will be kind of cool actually
Can you capture the Perez spirit? Keep in mind that it is Alexandro's destiny to not be at all magical. Also, though one never truly gets used to the Gift, he is accostomed to dealing with it. He is fully acclimated to his sister's Gift though, and bonds of blood insure that this will never fade.
I dunno if I know the "Perez spirit" well enough to capture it. If you'd prefer I could make a new grog, but it will be a couple days before I have time to sit down and do any arithmetic.
The fist day is rather uneventful. Nice weather, pleasent village that served us lunch, another town that provides us lodging at night (mainly we depend on Estaban's charm and gentle gift).
The next day, as you travel, a beggar starts following you. He does tricks and offers to make a fool of himself in exchange for food and coins.
Laetitia wants to avoid any potential problems with the fellow possibly overhearing a talking mink, so she tells the beggar that we have nothing for him and suggests he go back to town.
