It is hinted about in HoH:Soc that Ebroin, the Ex Mich Primus beloneged to another house and something called Orbus is mentioned. I cant find anything about this, please help me. as One of my players will visit Cad Gadu next session
Orbus refers to a magus who, for some reason or other has been evicted from his original House and must find succor in another (almost always ex Miscellanea or Criamon) within a year or be cast out of the Order and Marched.
See "Magi Orbi" on page 106 of "Houses of Hermes: Societates" for more on these.
Thank you Gremlin, maybe I was not clear, I am trying to find what house the Primus of Ex Misc belonged to, not general info on the Orbi.
I don't think it is discussed anywhere. It's one of those little nuggets that you get to decide upon. Is he a Tremere infiltrator? Is he actually someone from a Diedne lineage outside the Order? Probably not, but you get the idea; he's a blank canvas for you to use.
I remember that in my last saga I used Ebroin. My notes are on my old PC though and I haven't transferred them across so I can't remember what origin I had in mind for him. Regardless, he does seem to have a vision for the House. Its days as a loose, disconnected set of lineages may be numbered if he has his way.
Serf's parma, but IIRC it is hinted that he might be Tremere.
If he is Tremere, he'd be completely open about that fact. Against The Dark lists honesty and openness as one of the Tremere virtues, because, "everyone already knows Tremere want to take over the world." Other secrets are rather superfluous.
House Tremere: doing the right thing for the wrong reasons for over three centuries!
In any case, while searching 'Ebroin' in my 5E PDFs, I came across another mention of Ebroin in HoH: S' - The Flambeau chapter briefly mentions a 'School of Ebroin' which focuses upon Animal Summoning as a means of combat so maybe that can help you reach an appropriate decision?
Gremlin wins! Eboin's original House is discovered.
Orbi may also be magi who have chosen to leave their former Houses.
As always, it is left to the SG's discretion, but I suggested otherwise in Are Magi Names Unique?
In fact, Ebroin has preyed on my mind a bit.
In my own campaigns, Ebroin is a former Tremere. He was groomed by House Tremere to take over House Ex Miscellanea. But for some reason he “went native” and became more loyal to Miscellanea than to his former House. He fled Tremere before his preparation was complete (the House intended him to be older and more powerful by the time they slid him into the Primus role) and now he’s a Boy King figure trying to make a go of it. He conceals his Tremere connections because he’s ashamed of his time in that House and he suspects if he were to be publicly connected to that House, what loyalty he has among the magi and covenfolk of Cad Gadu would vanish.
I think he's someone who has some big, bold plan that he thinks is in keeping with the philosophy of his original House but which they're almost all dead set against, so he's decided that House Ex Miscellenea can accomplish his goals just as well instead.
