Sorry, I'm slow. Two feverish toddlers that need to be cuddled.
(nothing really worrisome, but not sleepinmg much drains my energy).
Hope they'll be back to normal in a day or 2.
Thanks for letting us know. Take care!
Take care !
Bitter, you still have to cast every spell when Multiple Casting them. So for three spells, that would be three rolls:
Also, there are always penalties to Finesse for Multiple Casting:
SG also gets to decide how Fast Casting plays into this (presumably the extra botch dice for Fast Casting are because it's difficult):
Yes, generally any combat roll would be a stress roll. The real question is how many botch dice there are, which is determined by the SG based on the circumstances.
Also, a warning for you on botches in case you didn't know: For casting each spell you've got at least one botch die as a base, perhaps more for combat. Then you get the aura as extra ones, unless we're actually in a Regio in which case you get double that. You also get two more for Fast Casting. Those can add up quickly.
Thanks for pointing this I'll edit my post the best I can
I knew this I just forgot ![]()
So is that a -2 or -3 ?does It increase as I cast (like 0 for the first -1 for the second and -2 for the last) or is it fixed ?
Thanks for pointing the risk for insane number of botch dice, I know I should take care but I usually find botch rather funny when they don't bring lethal consequences ^^
As a side note, the number or rolls for a single combat turn is just insane.
If you send all three at a single target, you get -1 on each Finesse roll. If you send two at one target and one at a second target, that's two targets so -2 to each roll. If you send all three against three different targets, that's three targets so -3 to each roll.

I just caught your comment about your Mastery score (of presumably 2) handling the extra botch dice, while the reality is that you have far more than two extra botch dice.

Well, not necessarily. It just so happens you're doing something that drastically increases the number of rolls.

[strike]Well I assumed 6 is that still too few ?[/strike]
I just found the sentence you point, I meant that my mastery level was canceling the +2 botch from fast cast but indeed there are additional ones...

Sorry if it felt like it was a problem, I find It rather amusing.
Would you allow my animated trees to grapple (only holding not inflicting damage) the opponent even it they don't penetrate their MR
Eduardo's spell fails because he cannot perceive any ground (except for where he is standing), because the ground is covered with snow!
(Umm man my spell is voice based not sight, so long as we are standing actually on earth it should still work if i am not mistaken)
I would agree. Saying his spell cannot affect the ground because it is covered by snow is like saying that a magus cannot affect a human target that is fully covered by a cloak. That seems... extreme.
My decision stands for now, but I'm going to put it to the forum and if a majority there thinks I'm bonkers, we'll handle it differently in the future.
If we are lucky, this forum question will take just a day or so to answer.
I like the forum answer: snow is terram so he can see the top layer of what he wants to affect.
So your spell (pit of the gaping earth) misfired just this once because of [strike]gm inexperience[/strike] fairy weirdness, but is going to work as planned in the future (in fact feel free to use the roll from the last time if you cast it again).
it happens, just have to wait for next round
A fever is cooking my brain. There's nothing like sharing in your children's diseases.
Expect me to be absent for 2 or 3 days. Sorry!
Take care, being a dad myself I share your pain
It's that time of the year -- but then, with Young children, it's always that time of the year.
(I'm sure the others will wince a bit at this, but, well, Animus isn't a court person. So me the player is having him be blunt deliberatedly. No score in Etiquette nor Faerie Lore, after all.
)
(OOC : I like the way you play your char ^^ so much fun)
Yep. ![]()
I usually play the magi that are nice and try to couch their questions and requests in ways that prevent conflicts. But for this character I'm doing things differently. He's a scout and a soldier, unused to fancy words and indirect approaches to problems. Doesn't mean that I'll volountarily try to cause trouble and conflict, but he'll be blunt, that's for sure! ![]()
Hmmm... in fact, this may be an appropriate Personality Trait for him.
Dont worry we will just hug it into Animus....hug him until he stops moving. chuckles I think one of the things i do enjoy is people who are not afraid to do soemthing that will likely make things harder, just because its what their characters would do.
I still haven't got all the rolls. I plan on posting tomorrow (assuming failed rolls for those who haven't rolled by then).
I guess I don't have to roll for anything since Menatia ate from the faerie food.
