Ummm, orcas and sharks are natural enemies...that might not go over too well...
I'd love to have another Tremere around. Missing out on all the reindeer games is getting old.
Same here. Seven seasons seems way too short.
This is the sort of thing I was hoping for with my merchant character. Now that I've read ToH:Iberia, I'm leaning toward him being an apprentice of one of the Barcelona Jerbiton who had a falling out with his parens over his unscrupulous use of magic in his dealings. Setting up a covenant on Majorca would give us an opportunity to circumvent (or at least compete with) Barcelona for mundane and possibly Hermetic trade, provided we actually set up a Portal there.
All that said, if the stories will be focused on sea adventures, I may need to make a different magus. An obese drunk with Ability Block: Martial has no business fighting pirates. I actually considered employing some.
If I do change, I have a Flambeau idea I've been kicking around, so it's no big deal.

So. Andorra wants to establish a secondary source of income, and, as part of the plans to revive the mercere house, set up a place for redcaps in majorca.
Problem is, there are Pirates!!! on the sea. Not a single band, mind you, but lots of small problems. Some may very well work for the competition. So, mundane and hermetic intrigue + pirates, who may be resolved by force or diplomacy.
There's also the question of these ruins, who may, or not, be of atlantean origin, that they want to be investigated before someone else does: Not only may there be treasure to find / a possible future danger to avoid, but if they do nothing, someone from another tribunal (barcelona?) will surely do it, thus slowly, but surely, encroaching on Andorra. To that end, they recruit a specialist: A bjornaer magus of Atlantean ancestry.
=> We may have a pattern of competition with barcelona, both mundane and hermetic, with them trying to encroach on andorra, which forces us to stretch ourselves, which forces us in turn to delegate to journeymen.
Now, this is both a goal and a diversion: Andorra proper is too isolated for any new building to not be noticed. But there? In that city? While their potential ennemies will concentratre on the visible activities of the journeymen, they're also supposed to stealthily build up a safehouse of sorts, complete with provisions and magical defenses, where the Andorra Magi will be able to retreat should worse come to worst. This is a secret job for the mercere, whose presence is officially justified by the mundane/redcap thingie above.
Aaargh! Too late for that, I'm not recasting her ![]()
But! I have her being from transylvania, and used to work with Tremere (the tremere-redcap relationship). She's also from Lycaneon, where she worked with Arachné (which serves to explain her recruitment), and has sucked up the tremere ideals.
I managed to do her in 22 andorran years, so I think I'll just add 20 years to her age, throw in Tremere Lore 4 (50 xp, I forgot it during chargen), and call it a end. The idea was that she believes in House Tremere ideals, but was quite dissatisfied with her situation, as she felt her personnal development as a maga was stunted, leaving her quite weaker than what she should be (this may, or not, be true: this has her as a 40 years PG maga, which is about what I had by doing her corebook-like). So becoming a journeywoman in Andorra is actually an improvement for her.

In short: She can create elementals by spending 2 pawns of vis, control them, extand her control to moon duration, which is more than enough for her to rest and cast her Sustain the spell of (form), which essentially makes the spell permanent. This would cost her 2 pawns of vim vis, but she can use her Imbued with the spirit of Vim to avoid that. Of course, she needs an elemental spirit for that, but these are the easiest to summon and cost no vis. And she can also bind these, free of vis.
Just some quick coments...
I try not to go for "focus on", rather I am at "potential for". So I am not going for a focus on sea adventures or anything of the sort. Having the potential for sea adventures means anything, everything and nothing.
As for Roberto, nothing about his magic or skill set has anything to do with the sea. He as a score of 1 in Profession-Seaman. That's about it. Sea adventures are something he has experienced just a few times and he has acquired a taste for it, it is something he might potentially grow into.
Which brings me to another point. I will be glad to set up this chapterhouse and work with the group to design what we want. But I don't wanna run the stories for it. I will produce, but prefer not to direct. Roberto is all player-character. I don't want to use him as an NPC, and I really don't like having to resort to making him an SG player character, but I have no other option at this point.
Now, as for pirates...
There really are a lot of pirates in this region at this time. All different kinds. As far as how we could possibly fit into that...
- we could be one of the many bands, but do you really wanna play the bad guys?
- we could be pirate hunters, either working on our own or with a letter of marque from King James of Aragon, but there is that sticky bit about interfering with mundanes and all...
- we could be the victims of pirates at some point early on, and the bad guys have supernatural power or whatever and we get involved in pirate/maritime culture from there and let it grow organically
As for Barcelona, they are not in any way a competitor. At least they do not view our relationship that way, so that is on you. They are our closest ally in Iberia and even the rest of the Order. There is a quiet understanding that, if two other covenants could be established in the area, they are willing to form a new Catalonian Tribunal between us. But that may be a pipe dream. Carmen's crazy father once had the idea of setting up three new covenants in Andorra itself and forming the Andossi Tribunal. Nobody liked that idea.
Maybe I am the one with crazy ideas. Hmmmm....

No problem, just replace barcelona with another iberian covenant.
Same thing here, want to concentrate on andorra, this, to me, is just background flavor (and maybe an excuse for more labwork and defenses, which is how I'm trying to have fun here, but that seldom sees play, so even if andorra becomes the biggest, baddest magical fortress in mythic europe, that's just background), although if some people want to run adventures them, they're free to go
There is bigger and badder. But it is fluff, for in order to have adventures we need to leave the security of our humble little keep.
Exactly
Yeah, Vibria would find a way to summon and bind Vulcanus's ghost just so she can never speak to him again

Like, ask Arachné?

She may be old, but if a pretty face like Vibria asked nicely her help to punish the Jerk, well, who would she be to say no? ![]()
Remember, I am the one that has to work out what each item is and/or adjudicate items that you write up.
Break out the 2nd edition Forgotten Realms hardback and use the 'art object' table. I'd take it as a personal favor if she makes off with the diamond-encrusted chamber pot. ![]()

I do not have that book, but if one of you guys do, feel free to draft something up
If you can't tell, Vulc is all about the draconian copyright and patent laws

Ah yes, Harlan Ellison with a hammer. Only, you know, taller. ![]()
Marko, you should never have let me loose
Bit by bit, I'm expandind all the things Valdarian in andorra.
If things keep up, you'll have lab texts for spells (already 5), items (already 4) and initiations (currently 2,5) for the "true" lineage, and at least descriptions, virtues and flaws for both the Spirit Masters and the avorted line of Daern (and probably texts and/or items, I'm thinking about it on my spare time)...
Next stop: Ascalon's Daughter. I'll just have to look at suitable shape and materials.
I am gonna have to check in on some of this here...

Okay, I have REAL stupid n00b question...Does the Affinity virtue work with exposure xp?
It works with all XP, yes.
Some people use that to munchkin with the rules as written, by putting 1 XP in 2+ affinities in order to gain 2xp each time.
=> A common HR, also used by metacreator, is to add all your xp and then multiply by 1.5 to get the final XP instead of doing the math each time and then add to the pool. This is also useful when people gain/lose affinity.
I also go by the half point rule.
Keep track of half=points (no rounding), and allowing you to spend half-points on Mastery (to be doubled into whole points with the Flawless Magic Virtue)
At this point it looks like all the existing storylines are postponed for the Sigmundo thing, which seems to be stalled. If the plan is currently to have Carmen go in with her coin and negotiate with Sigmundo, can that happen off-screen so that we can fast-forward to a point where the PCs get to participate again?

I think the plan is to have Solomon and Vibria convince him to take the Oath, with the coin as a fallback option.
