Xavi - I finally realized what your name stands for! Congrats for Thursday.
Enjoy Sunday!
Comment for non-Europeans:
This is completely off-topic. I doubt Americans have any clue what I am talking about (and why I am talking about it today)
But I promise not to post any more off topic stuff here - after Sunday.
some of us Americans have lived in Europe, so we're not all clueless n'est ce pas?
Is this another soccer thing?
Ole ole ole!
Yeah, some stupid football player decided to have the same name as I do
Being a weird name like John or Jack might be in English speaking countries I am extremely upset at that happening
I have been away for a week or so. Not literally, but I am carving my path through air traffic statistics. I will try to catch up with the lot of you during this weekend, promise. If needed, assume I basted how I incredibly did beat immense odds and ended up in the top against incredibly opposition before moving back to home for a well deserved rest. Even God needed to rest after all. And if there is something important developing, packed with action, Marcellus is in straight away.
Cheers,
Xavi
Excellent! And here I thought you were named after Professor X
Try to have your character posted by Monday. And for everyone, anything you want to do at the banquet, get it in by Monday also. Next week I want to shift gears.
I always found it rather weird that the Marvel (is it Marvel?) character used that name. The Catalan version of it, specifically. The same name is spelled Javier in Spanish and Xabier in Basque.
But well, Xavi is my real name, and English speakers tend to recognize it because of the character, so it is perfectly fine for me
Cheers,
Xavi
Knew a cook named Javier once (we called him Havi).
Catalan and Castilian get mixed up over here. Xavier sounds more exotic. And it was the professors last name
Upcoming Events
Okay, this is the start of Winter 1220. he Year begins in Winter according to the Christian calendar
. For simplicity, we just cast the Aegis on the Winter Solstice. Christmas was last week (on the weekend I think), and this is the weekend following (um, New Year’s Day was yesterday I think).
Anyway, presumably you can plot out what your lab or study or other activity you are engaging in for the season. Be aware, however, that Antonio is planning an expedition around to the dark side of the mountain. There is a bunch of things on his plate, and he is going to do some traveling this season. Either Marcellus or Inigo will be left in charge (probably Inigo, as Marcellus is healing all season). But when he returns in Spring, he expects a few of you to be set and ready to go with him on an expedition to the dark side of the mountain. If you want. You can stay here and get called names like pansy and sissy.
Then comes Summer. Nothing is scheduled for Summer. But in Autumn, the covenant is hosting a gathering of the Knights of Seneca. Next year, Iberia and Provencal hold their Regional Tribunals. We try not to get involved.
Of course, this could radically change without any notice, depending on unforeseen circumstances

Just to let everyone know...
My ISP has quite annoyingly relocated my connection 2 weeks early, leaving me somewhat bereft of internet access. Not only is this irritating from the POV of keeping up with the Saga it has several RL repercusssionswhich may take me a bit of time to catch up on (as I move house in 2 weeks).
I've already apologised for my delay in getting back to Max.
I should be back on board mid next-week, fingers crossed...
Cheers,
Lachie
Well, I am ![]()
Ah!!!
I totally don't care about it ![]()
Ah, yes, I must see if I can conjure and bind some suitable spirits to help us.
Jarkman This sucks an awful lot. Good luck to you!!!
Eating with telekinesis:
I've run across a problem. Due to Marie's disability, she can't eat normally. If she drops her parma, she can't enjoy dinner because she can feel what weirdos she spends her time with (I mean the Gift). If she doesn't she needs finesse rolls and it'll get a messy dinner if she has to roll for every bite, no matter how good her finesse.
Right now, I am thinking of having her extend her Parma to include some objects in the room, so it is lowered and she can penetrate it. The again, it doesn't sound like a good idea for a Tytalus (think of all the pranks they'd play her at the Fudarus meeting).
Maybe she doesn't eat in public or she has one spontaneous spell that teleports the food into her stomach (I have no idea if the idea is acceptable to a medieval gatroentologist familiar with magic).
I am asking you because I am sure she has found a good solution over the years. Marie had more time to think about it than I did.
Any ideas?
All she needed to do was to get Dimir to craft her a special fork that travels between plate and mouth with enough penetration to get past her Parma. Otherwise she could perhaps change into a bird and peck at her food
Some ideas, although some of them are goofy.
@Fixer: basically, one of the players of the Spanish team has the same name that I do: Xavi. Surprising, isn't it?
So Mark suddenly found that my "nickname" happens to be a real world name
Mine, concretely ![]()
Cheers,
Xavi
I do not see why you can't use your crown talisman to control the stuff you want to eat in a telekinetic way. That istem would be THE item in Marie's collection, methinks.
People that do not know about you might get a little bit scared about it (it is blatant magic after all) but efficient. You can also have a maidservant serving you for formal social occasions where you do not want to be so obvious about your magic usage.
Givcen that Marie has done it thousands of times, I would only require finesse rolls for really complicated manoeuvres. Chopping up some stuff making it fly and enter your mouth sounds easy to me considering that she manipulates lab equipment with the crown, and there you really need to be careful with the components to prevent the classic "BOOM!"· effect. Eating sounds a children's game compared to lab activity. Her life is quite complicated already as to make it even more so with a situation that should be rather easy
Cheers,
Xavi
The problem isn't using telekinesis, it's that the telekinesis spell would have to penetrate her Parma for her to eat since the food is affected by magic of a range greater than personal. Is there a way to do an R:Per telekinesis spell that only affects food that’s close to her or otherwise within reach? By a strict reading of the rules, probably not…
That kinda sucks.
I need to know who is still in the game. I think Ken and Muttonbone have dropped out. If so, would anyone mind if I gave their slots over to other people? I have had inquiries. If they are still in the game, I need them to contact me
I'm here--I've just been at Origins and not had much time on the computer.
