Table Talk - Development

Good point.

He could ask, as a favor, to spend a season in Andorra, but he'd have to trade something for it, pay for it, or manage to have enough council members to have pity of him.

Yep. Good point. I thought that the island of Sa Dragonera had a higher aura, though? This is where I stationed Arnau.

Sa Dragonera has a 6, but Marko made it clear that nobody can actually be stationed in the Aura 6 area...otherwise we'd all be fighting for it.

Very cliche. And the rapier is a few hundred years away. We have a guitar player (Carlos) and a singer (Cristobal). We need a drummer, a bass player, a keboard player, a...
oh, yeah, also hundred of years away
Bows in this time and era would be short bows or the newest technology of crossbows.

That is also on the top layer of the Sa Dragonera regio, which is utterly inhospitible except for the small circle with the vis source. Down on the mundane level, the place is just a rock; with no agricultural, mineral, or strategic value.

Yeah, the rapier didn't come around until after firearms which limited the utility of heavy armor and made thin blades like the rapier viable.

If he was Welsh, you could possibly make the argument that the Welsh longbow is very new technology at this time. According to Wikipedia (the keeper of all knowledge), when the longbow actually came on the scene is debateable.

Ah right. Will check how a kitchen 8a witch lab) should look like. it might be time to get a wayback machine conversation with Fedora. Or assume that Bernat has a +5 aura lab somewhere in Mallorca and he will lend his kitchen to me. A lot of conditionals here!

BTW, guitars are also a few centuries in the future

The longbow is quite badly represented in Ars. Well, in fact 95% of the weapons have questionable mechanical performances there, but hey. Anyway, as I was saying thr longbow is not great. It required a very high strength, so high in fact that it could twist a man's hand and forearm easily from the strain of pulling the bow. Longbowmen are readily identifiable in medieval graves due to the loops in their bones. As such, combining this with the finery required to play a lute does not seem to fit well. A regular bow sure, but a longbow should be out of a minstrel's league.

Oh no! T-T

Yeah, this might be more credible than just staying in Andorra...

Or...
Arnau is going on the City of Brass adventure. In the Magic Realm. Should he manage to stay there long enough to build a kitchen (even if he'll have to abandon it later), it might allow him to bind the Awesome Boar of Doom.

According to the wise and powerful Wikipedia...

In the image below, the instrument on the left is the guitarra latina, and the one on the left is the guitarra moresca. Latter, these terms were dropped and they were both just called "guitars".

Thinking back.

In the Magic Realm, Arnau should have a lab total of at least 15

If we take a weak magical boar (Base MM 05) of Size +2. Its final Might is 03.
So the difficulty for Arnau becomes 10 + 2 + 3 = 15 :smiling_imp:

Well, Bashir plays the qanun. It's not exactly a keyboard, more of a harp. But it does make nice music.

Okay, I think we have the beginnings of the making of a house band here.

Okay, so I've updated the season tracker I did a couple of pages ago, adding all of the classes that Marko had posted in the Prelude thread. Note, this only shows adventures, significant events (people joining the covenant) and classes being taught to groups.

Pretty accurate. The training/education classes may need adjustment. It was a rough draft I was working on for so long and I just got tired and posted what I had in an effort to seek help from you guys.

I thought we were going to have a story for Donna in Winter 1235 where she looks for a female apprentice.

Possibly, that's between you and Marko. I wasn't sure if that was happening or not, which is why I left it off.

Well, I could throw a "boyo" onto every other sentence if you like .

So, cliché, non-niche and anachronistic. Let's knock that one on the head then! Is there a list of current companions, like there is of magi? I have much less Companion inspiration than magus...

Is the geopolitical situation such that a Knight could fit in? Or perhaps a sort of wanderlust-y kind of chap; lives off the land, handy at defending himself, rolls in from somewhere one day... Actually, that one kind of works for me, if it works for you lot?

Marko, sorry to boost your workload, but on the development sheet I have "scheduled" 2 stories involving Fleur- the first in which she investigates the haunting of her Sanctum and the second in which she investigates the second regio. Not sure how we want to handle runup or the anticipation of others... except possibly to mention things in the general activities thread...

There's a list of companions on the wiki here.

No idea about the knight, but I do want to point out that a wanderlust character would need some kind of compelling reason to stop wandering after reaching Andorra.

There are no native noble titles, but there are those who come from nearby lands or earned titles in other lands that settle here and set up estates. And a knight errant wanders though does not necessarily have wanderlust. We border on France & Aragon-Catalonia. Navarre & Castile are not far away.

As for the Ghost, Donna, Doughboy, and Fleur; I am percolating and they are on my list.
