How does Celeste travel in such a way as to avoid Lancor being seen by mundanes? Travel by night? Hide it using illusions?
During their travels, they stay off the beaten road part of the time (not that there's a clear road from Durenmar to Tugurium), and sometimes it's good to have a scary dog-like creature to scare off bandits, and less scrupulous people. And other times she can usually spont a level 5 CrIm spell to make his seem like a normal large dog (Base 1, +1 Touch, +2 Sun, +1 moving).
No clear road from Durenmar, but from Basel to the valley there are fewer options. What I'm thinking about is the impact on mundanes local to the covenant.
CrIm cannot be used to hide or change something's appearance. That's what Muto is all about. Base 1 is fine for visual appreance, but it won't change the size. A Size +1 dog isn't really a common sight -- that's the size of a pony. So it will still draw stares, but not to the point of being too much of a problem.
I'm assuming this will be a spontaneous with Fatigue, so I'll need a roll to check for botching.
BTW, these small details help us all better understand the capabilities of your character while also drawing attention to various details of her daily life, but also checking our respective assumptions regarding how the rules are applied during play in the saga.
2 cents:
- Going Muto the +1 for moving image won't be required, for a final lvl 4.
- Lencor is the size of a pony. You could very well change his image into one. Or maybe a donkey.
- Lencor's Might needs to be penetrated. Not that Celeste is going to have trouble with that (at Pen 2 and taking a strand of fur as an AC for a +2 multiplier that's already 6, higher than Might 5). Just tought it would be nice to point that we are clear on that side. ^^
- Alba is going together with Celeste, right? She does have a few spells that would prove useful on the road.
Now i want a talking donkey x3
Itzhak, consider in your post that Alba will cast any spell that she have and you consider that would be helpful. And between the "donkey" and "Disguise of the Transformed Image" for me, we can mix ourselves with the mundanes without issues if you want (we have "Traveler's Foresight" too, useful to avoid ambushes).
Also, i understand that you travel again in male form? Last day included or you will arrive in your regular shape to Tugurium?
Today im a lil busy, so i will wait until those clarifications to post accordingly
I got bored to wait So at the end i did a post open enough to fit nearly any decision about our way to travel ^^!
I hope it's alright
P.S.: and with some luck i mantained my Engrish at bay too xD
Just remind me: Do Alba and Celeste have grogs with them?
Celeste hasn't taken any grogs with her. I find Irencillia's description to be counterproductive to take grogs from there. The grogs there seem to meld into almost a single faceless identity, unless recognized for something, and then turned into an apprentice, or companion. It's almost like the Faerie realm is controlling the grogs there.
Or at least, that's my reading of the covenant.
No ^^! Alba is being Alba, she didn't even though about the possibility xD
Since this is a few weeks after the first wave Regulus should alredy be in Confluensis, with his nose deep into the Normandy tribunal records... But he will be back in time for the vis collection, probably getting to know Celeste and Alba just a couple of days prior to the actual story. =]
Or they may arrive just before he leaves, since he probably had a few things to arrange before he left for Confluensis. Let's handwave the exact timing, since one of the goals of the scene is for the magi to get to know each other a little.
So if you want to participate in their arrival's scene, you can do so.
Ok, I've also jumped in. =9
Welp, we had planned around 1,500 posts previous to reach the next in-game day, including several flashback to our respective pasts and a Disney style song to express our feeling about reaching Tugurium, but since you added your post we will have to pass without it
Now seriously xD You ended leaving Argos as a companion at the end? Where will you place his finished sheet?
Please, donāt let my post stop you. As soon as you start singing Simon will tag in. Thatās how it works, right? =D
I thought about other options, but I think Iāll keep him. If it doesnāt work out in the end I can always give him a sudden drive to return to his hometown.
I'll post the finished stats as soon as he has a topic of his own. Not concerned at the moment, since we should still have a good amount of time before needing it. ^^
Nah... the magic has been lost already...
Sounds fine to me
Btw, remember to add the age modifiers to the characteristics too (maybe with parenthesis or something, to have visible the real numbers).
I'll leave the next bit on the late arrivals for @Arthur. It will take a bit for Regulus to join, thanks to Simon's poor sense of direction and the confusing nature of the covenant's buildings (that's the reason for his wariness looking at the covenant)... But he will arrive.
I'm a bit under the weather at the moment, so it may be a day or two before I post.
Am on vacation till Monday, so that's fine
If you want to play it like that, ok... but i seriously doubt that Second Sight its considered a spell for Invisible to Magic purposes (it doesn't have magnitude, for starters, its not a spell nor a power, its an ability)
And even in case that it would work, then i shouldnt be able to see Julius at all, since he would be completely invisible to my eyes.
