If their magus requests the instructor the familiars can access them. You can also request things like translating a summae...
Mentor cannot teach "Magic theory and philiosophae". He can teach one subject at a time. Latin and teaching may be learned by someone taking the class, as long as at least half the points are on the topic being taught, but a class cannot have a divided subject. (if the class being taught is on a language then points may be diverted to artes liberales)

Checking the teachers, it looks like Mercurio had solo teaching in scribe in Spring 1121, and only one person sharing MT that year... And solo teaching latin in 1122. He's updated properly now, I apparently forgot to hit save last time I updated him

my mistake on Giovanni- I hid the columns then unhid them to double check something on a cut and paste and forgot to re-hide Giovanni...
please note which tractatus you plan to read, not just the topic, as this allows keeping track of which are still available in each season... which is important since they cannot be read twice.
also note that leaf may assign tasks to other scribes (up to 2 seasons a year each)- for example copying the fertility lore tractatus in the fall and winter of 1124...
why does mercurio have seasons with x's in them? that designates hired (paid for with BP) specialists who are not available that season, which does not apply to Mercurio.
Leaf will assign a scribe to make a copy of the Fertility Magic Tractatus is Fall and Winter of 1124. Should I put that in myself?
I already optimized that (and have another scribe copying the copy in the winter), but wanted you to be aware you have staff you can assign.
I was unaware of special significance of X's. I was just marking seasons I wouldn't be using due to chores/work. Fixing it now.
I HAD planned on Mercurio getting his scribing up this year, but I just noticed Mentor has a lower Profession:Scribe than Mercurio does now. So he'll be doing his alternate plan of reading a book, increasing his second sight.
As a side note, Mercurio has a 5 in Scribe, Latin, and Italian; a 5 Communication and Great Teacher. He'll be ready to start doing books as soon as he's old enough. Right now, he's available twice a year to do actual scribing work - he'll be Scribing 6 very soon.
a note: scribing quality (which needs to be 6) is dex+scribe (neat handwriting), not necessarily just scribe. It is a house rule that makes it fit more in line with city and guild and art and academe, and feels right...
Right. Mercurio is at Dex+Scribe 6 right now. To extend the math, when he starts writing books, his tractatus quality will be 14. Mmm. He needs to age up for that I think.

regarding the teaching season of 1125 Oliverius and Arduino have the same score of 8 in Magic Theory already, I don't think puissant ability increases the limit regarding teaching and writing on a subject.
Furthermore, do Oliverius need the lab assistance of his apprentice in winter?
I had not realized you were already at eight! Well done, young apprentice. He's going to teach you Verditius Cult Lore for that season, and suggest you read Aristotle's philosophae books to deeper understand the mystieries you'll be initiating in to. Oliverius's plans for winter aren't actually complex, but he's going to start grinding down on you in 1126, now that the apprentice's stats are more maxed.
