Or another cult lineage, such as that of Valdarius
Run away from the light...Flambeau are evil...stay away
Right. Well, my second choice was leaning to Enhanced Casting Tools, which, as I understand it, gives me a Mastery-like ability for each of my formulaic spells. Is that right? And what flaw comes along for the ride?
Initiation of Enchant Casting Tools
Ease Factor: 15 (Minor Virtue known to the Mystagogue)
Script Bonus: +9
Script Details: The Mystagogue spends a season with the Initiate, creating casting tools one after another (+3). The Initiate must know the exact time and date that she was Initiated into the House’s Outer Mystery. On an anniversary of that date, she ritualistically buries all her casting tools in a Magic regio (+3). If the Initiation is successful, the Initiate learns the Inner House Minor Mystery Enchant Casting Tools. The buried casting tools are destroyed and the Initiate receives the Minor Flaw Limited Magic Resistance to Vim (Ordeal +3).
So it's Limited Magic Resistance (Vim).
I can probably live with that. I'll update my sheets.
Could someone let me know (PM, maybe?) what I get from this mystery?
I'm in the process of PMing the details, but I ran across something HoH:MC that may change the plan.
That suggests to me that there are more initiations than those defined in the book, with each Inner Mystery having an initiation that bestows Hubris rather than what is listed in the examples. If the troupe agrees, Asilano could stick with his preferred Inner Mystery.
Yep, I just got home and read that section. For your first initiation you must take the Hubris ordeal and that replaces the minor ordeal listed in the script. So he can take Reforging and gets the hubris ordeal vice Risk Averse. So all is good.
This has my endorsement as well
Huzzah! Reforging and Hubris it is, then.
At some point, I'll need to know what Hubris does, of course... but I get the impression it can wait.
Hubris can't wait, Hubris is the most important thing in the world. Nothing is more important than Hubris!
Hubris is great! Hubris adds to your lab totals! The more hubris, the better! Vulcanus loves Hubris!
Sadly, due to its awesome power, you only start with Hubris +1, but I'm sure you can raise it!
All you have to do is believe in yourself! Don't let anyone tell you you can't do it, because they're wrong and you're always right!
Well played, sirs!
Does it also return target creature and all auras attached to it to their owners' hands?
In brief, Hubris is a personality trait roughly equivalent to Proud, only it's tied to the Gift (thus improving lab scores in some situations) and it 'improves' over time. Any time a Verditius magus performs an action that will increase his reputation as an enchanter, such as selling an enchanted item or just making an enchantment for someone else, he gains 'experience points' in his Hubris trait. Learning more Inner Mysteries also raises Hubris.
It helps resolve all problems, ensures a swift and permanent return of your loved one, protects against all ills, bad luck, sexual impotence, financial fallouts, family troubles, unknown ilnesses. It grants luck in games, exams, driver's licence, love.
100% garantee, no false promises, results in 3 days. Also works through arcane connections.
It swells your head with pride and makes you act like a jerk, but adds to some lab totals.
Autumn 1236, Spring & Summer 1237: Study Corpus Hermeticum three times. 36xp in Magic Theory.
Magic Theory -> 6, 6xp over.
Winter 1237 Fleur was reading the Corpus Hermeticum.
Right you are. I'll skip that month. I'll either find something else to do, or maybe read a book on Vim, since it affects my Reforging. Or maybe that would be a good season to marry Isolde - which may or may not be a season-long activity, depending on whether anyone wants to make it so.
