Chapter 4b Twilight and Gloaming

(mutters) [color=red]%#$@ Ignem... Pop kept saying "you need more Ignem to be a proper Flambeau". &*#$@% Ignem. ... Hey, are those torches still going? Bring one over. I am gonna try something else."

In the ourside world, sitting in a comfy chair, Marcellus sees the twilight turn into night. The stars shower Andorra with their light

GULP

We don't have any way of telling time in the darkness! Other than the glowing rock, which is set with a Sun Duration. But when that winks out, that means our Parma is expired!

(That was meant as a pure cameo appearence, but yes, you are right about that!)

[color=red]Soldaes do we have a plan? I can cast at least ceremonial magic in moderate power if that could prove helpful but we must have a plan as otherwise we spend out power in futile attempts. If we need light I could draw up a circle that is filled with light. Decimus awaits his soldaes suggestion.

Intellego Vim spells can be used to determine the time I do believe. I have to check. I estimate we first entered the cave about mid morning, and it is probably mid afternoon. We have some time. We need to take care of this light situation though. We make for lousy dungeoneers! Carmen makes preparations for some cerimonial spontaneous magic.

Marie tries to establish contact to the unknown alien lifeform(s) by talking to them/it.

What does she say? And how does she say it?

Scott

[color=red]We come in peace. We would like to talk to the noble inhabitant of this cavern - if he or she dares speak to Magi. We seek your advice.

Marie says slowly and gently, starting with Latin, than using all languages at her disposal.

Nope. Not yet at least.

[color=green]Dimir Taar
[color=red]I know. Damn these pesky faeries, and damn this girl! She's got character, though.

Unfazed.[color=red]
Oh. Joy. I should have guessed it. Let's follow, then, but carefully

If I see something with my Second Sight, I keep cool, try to point it to the other magi, and get ready to toast it with some Elemental Fireflies

There's no reply to Marie's greeting, and no one sees anything, either...except...

Marie turns around, and a few paces away from her there's a large rock sitting on the floor of the cavern. She could swear it wasn't there before.

Scott

Marie wonders if she should use a spell to check her sanity - but then she remembers her master quoting THE MASTER:

[color=green]Of course I am crazy but that doesn't mean I'm wrong.

Chuckling like the old crazy witch she is, she decides to accept the fact that a rock seems to approach her. She sits down on the cavern floor, cross-legged, across from the rock. Looking at it closely she greets him, speaking slowly:
[color=red]
Mighty Brother, thank you for coming here. We need your advice. Give us a sign if you allow us to read your mind to facilitate talking to you.

OCC - Did Marie dissapear from the room or is she seeing things we don't?

Marie is still there among you...as is the rock.

Despite Marie's importuning the rock just sits there...like a rock.

[I'm out until late tonight.]

Scott

(ooc: Could someone InMe5 her to see if she is insane?)

OT:
you want to be scryed :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Besides, isn't a large rock weird in this place?

You are not insane. Just seems like it sometimes :stuck_out_tongue:

We all see the same rock.

It's the first rock of any kind you've seen--everything else is smooth floors and walls.

Scott

Anyone know how to talk to a rock? InTe anyone? Hmmmm....

[color=red]When it comes to battle, then I'm the woman to turn too. But this sort of riddle is nothing that I can solve with my magic.

ooc: Can we turn it into sth else, sth with a mouth maybe? Or just create a mouth with two ruby lips for the rock (CrCo is a likely combination)? Which level is that?
