He feels his fate and Propolos’ are intertwined, and hence would aid him occasionally.

He was able to convince her they were both serving the gods, and Umbra would be willing to lend this fellow servant of Magic a helping hand now and then. She is reluctant to use her Whispers Through the Black Gate power, however, seeing its use as a breach of professional etiquette.

Corona is a spirit of the color (species) white that Propolos found on a particularly shiny day. Grant is a (Might 15) wolf spirit that Propolos befriended in a forest in the Rhine tribunal, while on adventure. Impressed with his skill at hunting down and vanquishing the Faerie that molested his forest, Grant sees Propolos as a hunter and would agree to aid him in future hunts. He can grant the power of sniffing out any dead body to which he (or his summoner) has an Arcane Connection (similar to The Inexorable Search, but only the scent, not precise location, is provided).

Background: Propolos was raised as Ricals del Doira, third son of a mediocre Italian merchant that traded mainly to the nobility in and around the Italian Alps. While he was initially favored and brought up in his father’s trade, he soon developed a magical air and vile premonitions. Things came to a hectic climax when one day he foresaw the death of the daughter of a noble, was accused of witchcraft, and by evening, after a bizarre day filled with strange coincidences and occurrences, found himself spirited away into the hands of a mysterious stranger. His father reluctantly let go of his son, so that he may grow among “his kind”.

The mysterious stranger turned out to be the Flambeau magus Pietro of the Greater Alps Tribunal, a leading member in the Cult of Mercury. Young Ricals looked up to his parens, and still respects him greatly, although he has turned to the school of Vilano (Pietro wields power over winter and weather, mixing the School of Sebastian and Boreas). After his gauntlet he spent much time as a guest (Peregrinator) in the Rhine tribunal, although he frequently returned to his masters’ chapter house, Juno’s Tower, in the Greater Alps, and also visited other covenants in the Alps and Normandy.

Eventually he was driven by Visions to seek out Andorra, traveling across the Rhine and then Normandy until he reached the temple of Mercury that Titus has commandeered, and then Andorra itself. He is convinced that the gods intend a great fate for him here, although he knows not what it is.
