General Table Talk

Been busy, but I wil catch up I promise! I plan to devote tomorrow to it, which is Easter Sunday for the Greeks.

At the notary, in an official capacity as a translator for an english friend.

The notary explains things.
My translation: "Blah blah blah"

Hello all. Sorry to have disappeared on you all of a sudden last year. I wrote a note to Marko, but I figure I owe the rest of you an explanation too.

What happened is that my dad fell suddenly ill (mentally and physically) and had to be hospitalized with a family member monitoring him 24 hours a day. He has Parkinson's Disease and it's very bad for a person with Parkinson's to be in the hospital. Many, many things can go wrong, and you want to have someone there who knows what's going on and is willing to advocate for him. He also entered into delirium, which exacerbated his slow dementia. All in all, it's been a bad time for the whole family.

It also happened very suddenly. One evening he went into the emergency room for blood pressure issues, and the next day he slipped into the delirium that he's never really come out of, and it was all hands on deck. In any case, the last several months have been a lot of dealing with that, and trying to keep up with work and family in between. Thankfully we finally found a good place for him at an assisted living facility that specialized in memory care.

So that's what happened. I know I should have found time to say something. but in the early months I was too busy, and after that, it' seemed like it was too late. But in the end, I decided that you all deserved an explanation as well. I'm sorry if I made life difficult for you or burned any bridges.

Best,
Trogdor

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say - don't worry about it. Everyone knows that family comes first, and you've had an absolute bastard of a year. Stuff like this is going to be the last thing on your mind, and rightly so. You have nothing to apologise for.

I'm glad you've now found a safe place for your father, and hopefully you can start to feel a bit happier with his situation and yours. No bridges burned from my point of view; and I'd love to see you back in the saga if you so desire.

Ditto here. I'm just glad you're okay, and I really hope things start getting better for you and yours.

Things are definitely in a better place. My dad is somewhere that can take care of him the way he needs to be taken care of. It's sad to see it come to this. But it's the best solution possible under the circumstances.

As for coming back into the saga, Asilano, I'd love to, but that's ultimately Marko's decision. I don't know how he feels about the matter.

Marko, what are your thoughts?

It is totally cool to return whenever you desire. As I mentioned to you previously, Lucas is in "limbo" and can easilly be reactivated at any time.

I didn't get any message that Lucas was in limbo. Are you sure the message went out?

I'd love to jump back in any time. What's the best way to manage that?

Just checked my outbox and it seems that my phone must of swallowed that message. I hate when that happens (grrrrr....)
In that message, I expressed condolances for your troubles. Then with great smarm I tried to encourage you to return

Lucas is actually in double limbo. In "The Visitor", he is on the ship with NPCs running distraction tactics and has passed out from sponting many spells. Acutus, Roberto, and Wirth are in the midst of infiltrating the underwater palace.
These things move really slow, don't they?
In City of Brass, Lucas is at an oasis with a genie recovering from poisoning while the rest carried on and are at the city gates.

It is an easy matter to have said genie take you to rejoin the party in CoB. Or we can pick things up at a latter point (the genie having taken you home as part of a bargain)

Whatever is easiest for you. I'd be happy to get back into the action, however.

I'm really starting to picture Roberto as being like Inigo Montoya...

That put a huge smile on my face

[color=red]My name is Roberto Rodriguez. You insulted my mother. Prepare to die...

I will contemplate an idea. But you can go ahead and update through the end of 1236, taking out a season for The Visitor and two for City of Brass. I will think of something appropriate to fill those it. But in The Visitor, if you can work out something with Fixer, you can play out a side scenario on the ship. That adventure is yet unfinished so I have no idea what the xp would be. For CoB part one, I will grant 10xp and replenish your confidence. For part two, I am unsure as we just started that. Want to join in there maybe?

Sure. Happy to join in part II!

Then do a quick scan of the end of "Road to the City of Brass" to see what you would have seen. Da'ud the Djinn would have brought you up to the Brass Horseman which points out the road to the city. You would pass the Bassalt Pillar where there is a trapped efreet, and past that is the Magic Realm and the rest of the party.
Walk up behind them and say hi

Fleur really wishes Vulcanus had an apprentice she could grab.

Oh my... That's dreadful :frowning:
I'm really sorry for you and your father. I'm glad you've found a way to sort this through, and glad to see you again. I missed lucas, and would have loved to see him and wirth acting together.

The Visitor ain't finished, let us see what happens.

In short, lucas and the ship voluntarily (almost) entered a trap laid for Roberto. Lots of soldiers, lead by Attumah, mounting a giant, mutant crab.
They fled, hoping to draw the forces with them so as to gain as much time as possible for Wirth, Acutus and Roberto, but King Triton's trident allowed Attumah to control the sea, making the ship's escape difficult while having him and his forces move faster than usual.
The ship was boarded by some men, but you managed to repel them, and temporarily shield the ship from the trident's pull, thus allowing it to narrowly escape.

This'd be a favor for the apprentice.

Have I told you that the spider hates Vulcanus?

Who's Ferguson?

Timothy Ferguson, the Ars Magica author

Much of what I am doing with the Tremere and Transylvania is based on his work.

"Oh, God...it's my mother! Everybody run!!!!!"
