If the 2 Verdi can make Tech/Te items to cut raw stone and shape stone to a final form*, Daggin could make a ReTe item that moves the raw/finished blocks around, and we'd have our assembly line - material, finish, move.
(* I'm a big fan of the MuTe that makes a raw block into pourable stone, for molds & etc, but a PeTe magicked chisel that cuts the stone at the whim of a craftsman would be valuable too - they each have different pros/cons.)
At its most basic, the mutual agreement that Daggin proposed would mean that, of the two seasons that it takes to set up a lab, the 3 who inherited labs would contribute one season of their own sweat to the set-up of the other labs, and one more to the "greater good", so that everyone had 2 seasons that they did not have to themselves for free.
This could either be above and beyond the amount owed in general, or not, depending on the perceived need.
So long as no one gets left holding the stinky end of the stick all by themselves, it's all good.
(And I'm outa here- readya in a few days, wish me luck!)
Of course, given her reputation : Hedge Wizard (Order of Hermes), +3, the question should be phrased "Can she contribute anything to the covenant at all?" 8)
Rhiannon can "create" some help; there is a reason I'm asking questions about Animae Magic on the main board; Hers works in a similar fashion. Right now, the best she can do is a Stone 'Golem', which will do what the caster wants it to for the day, with little other direction.
Hmm, We can craft items to shape and cut the stone, then Rhiannon can provide the labour to move the stone from the quarry.
Re labs and seasons:
As long as the other magi contribute a season to the covenant as well as making their labs I'm fine with that. I wouldn't want one of the people to sit in the library brushing up on their arts the whole time their labs are being built, unless they are going to make up that time when they have a lab.
(Rhiannon, or Daggin? Is a stone robot wandering around exactly the sort of thing we want? Either way... could be humorous, at least from an outside perspective!
I guess the choice is between a more flexible "controllable statue" (tho' one without any volition/mind/skills at all), or a more subtle but equally more narrow-purpose "rock lifting" tool. )
I finished the consolidated Lab Text table, here. I was going to put it into the Covenant-in-deatil thread, but if I do then only "Cuchulainshound" (or our SG?) can ever Edit it. Did we ever decide on a shared Account for such purposes? (If we do, we should share the password via PM- probably better to keep it between ourselves.)
Scribe? Chronicler? Bard? whatever.
(And once we have that, then we each become mini-moderators, and can even Copy/Paste a post to a lower post, and effectively "insert" a post above it by Editing in the new info, if that order makes more sense.)
First and foremost, we can all log in as this guy to post/correct/edit/update the various "common" information, now beginning to be posted in the "Covenant Details" thread.
Before you edit/post, be comfortable that your changes have been OK'd by Kryslin, our SG, (unless it's just a typo or something.)
Also, he'll be our NPC librarian specialist, when/as he needs to interact with the PC's. (We got him, might as well!)
I've had a project due, and all my creative down-time has been directed there. The thing's almost done, so I'll post for Daggin tomorrow, with any luck at all.
Mathius is examining the artifacts in the room more closely. He will spend perhaps an hour examining them in detail, then going through the door to the rest of the lab.
I've been keeping quiet so that everyone could concentrate on the current tale
Azaelle is on the road and will be with you shortly- as soon as I run her revised character sheet past another set of eyes. Always good to check your work.
You know, Steve, I've always thought that "drip" and "drop" were totally inadequate as onomatopoeic applications of a drop of any liquid falling into another body of liquid.
